Day 3.0 - Hmm...
Well, another day and not enough dollars. My thighs and knee have made me pretty much miserable all day, but what can you do.
Not much happened today. Just worked from 1 to close. There are going to be some interesting developments at work, but who knows where that will lead.
I keep on bouncing this idea around. Patrik, the manager at Dad's as well as one of the founders of Chaotic Underworld Recordings has been trying to get me to do a track for the noise comp that they have. The what with hunh? Chaotic Underworld has released two noise compilations to date. Either ambient, experimental, or just straight up noise. Patrik tried to get me on the first one, but I really couldn't come up with anything. I've got an idea now, but I'm not sure to see how to do it.
One thought would be that ever sound on the track would be organic. Use crickets or frogs as a backing drone. Use rain drops hitting plastic for the rhythm track. Walking in gravel, gates opening, things like that. Okay, that can work in a Steve Reich sorta' way. Then the other thought would be that any vocals on the track would be me. Telling a story. Modify the voice so that it's lower and slower, but not comically so. What would I read that would sound really spooky? Hmm... Make something up, true. But what if it was read in German, or Russian, or Gaelic, or even Hebrew?
Now you see where I'm going with it. I know it's not much, but any thoughts or suggestions anyone has would be appreciated.
Well, that's three days in a row now. Let's see how long I can keep this up.
