Please Let Me be the Bionic Man Before August...
A conversation came up around the time that Transformers was coming out between myself and Patrik (used to be my manager at Dad's JC, and then was manager of Dad's Kpt until they closed it) about seeing movies in the theater. I was still in the process of getting disability, and didn't know how long or anything like that, so when Transformers came up in conversation, I mentioned how frustrated I was that I wouldn't be able to see it in the theater.
Well, one thing led to another and the question was posed, 'Would you go to a theater if there was a new Star Wars movie?' (Patrik knows how big of a fan I am.) I actually had to think about it, and then replied that I wouldn't be able to. Even for Star Wars, at this point, my hip would not allow me to sit in a theater for a movie, any movie. He said something about that if it actually happened (we didn't think it was a possibility at the time), he was sure that he could get all my friends banded together to do something where I could be made comfortable in a theater. Wheeling in a bed, or something like that. It was a nice thought, and it made me feel good to know that I have friends like that.
Well, what we both thought impossible is now going to happen. I just hope I'm either out of surgery by two months, or haven't had it yet and figure out this whole moving a bed into a theater project. What is it that I'm talking about? August 15, 2008, there will be a new Star Wars movie in theaters.
Let me repeat that. August 15, 2008, there will be a new Star Wars movie in theaters. I just hope I get to see it. I really, really do.
I'm not sure if I've already posted or not about this, but within 30 days, I'll have the proper insurance that both my regular doctor and the doc that's going to do the surgery takes. That puts it middle of March. A month for prepping for the surgery (stockpiling my own blood so they can use it in the surgery, etc., etc.) puts it to April. Two months of recovery (that's what I've been told from the beginning) puts it to the end of June.
Looks like there might be a possibility after all. Hmm....
And since I know all of you are such Star Wars fans, here's the link for what I'm talking about (that way I won't bore the majority of you). ;^)
