I guess it came from
dame_batsiefirst, but once again I got it from
cleartempest Comment and I'll give you a letter; then you have to list 10 things you love that begin with that letter. Afterward, post this in your journal and give out some letters of your own.
She gave me letter R, so...
1. Rufus Wainwright- THIS MAN IS A GENIUS! He's a Canadian-American singer/songwriter and HOOOOOOOLY CRAP I have never heard of a more talented songwriter, his lyrics are oh so clever and his music is so amazingly orchestrated and his voice is incredible. He's a modern-day Orpheus and I end up listening to him A LOT, particularly when I'm writing. And I think "If only you weren't gay. And twenty years older than me..."
2. Rugs-I know this sounds stupid. But you've seen those really cool and ornate rugs, right? Everytime I see one, I think "It looks like it belongs in such-and-such place" and before I know it I'm composing the settings of a story and formating plot and trying to write it all down before I forget it. This is why I'm not allowed to go to furniture stores anymore; I'll be there with my mom and I'll be all "Look look! Isn't that the perfect chair for sitting around sipping martinis in? And look, that looks like it comes from an English hunting lodge?!" and my mother is like "Yes, that's nice, but it doesn't match our house." I think when I grow up I will probably spend lots of time in furniture stores planning out settings...
3. Reading- I do this way too much. Like today, I was driving home from my IB Psych test and I was passing Barnes and Noble and so I HAD to stop (They still don't have xxxholic 10, goddamnit!) And I noticed this series that thelovemafia recommended, the Dresden files and I was like "NO! Bad Glass! You don't need more books!" and I started to walk away...and then I was like "...maybe just one..." I often end up reading books when I should be doing homework or writing stories because I say "It can wait, just one more chapter". And then one turns into five turns into the whole book and I haven't gotten anything done.
4. Roaming- I have terrible wander-lust. I frequently just get up and roam the house just to move around. Or I go outside and wander the fields. It makes me happy. I'll probably just move from place to place if it's possible when I get older (and since I want to study journalism and anthropology, that should give me plenty of opportunity!)
5. Red- It's my favorite color!
6. River- There's a river running through my field and it's so cool! When I was little we used to go swimming in it all the time and I used to dream of making a raft and sailing away to have an adventure. I still go out there sometimes but I don't have much free time anymore...
7. Rand, Ayn- THAT'S NOT CHEATING! I really like her books, and I really love her style of writing and wish I could write like that. I just...don't get some of the social/economic theories because I've never taken a class on government or economy, since IB exempts me from stuff like that.
8. Rain- I love rainy days. I like walking in the rain, I like playing in the rain. I like sitting at my window and watching the rain. I usually feel very inspired to write on rainy days.
9. Rest- Something I get very little of! *laughs* I probably wouldn't know what to do with all my free time if I had it, though.
10. Russian fairytales- They're so cool! THEY'RE SO SCARY!
