Christmas shopping

I'm trying to get better about updating this, but wow. Couldn't have picked a worse season, could I have? I'm also trying desperately to come in under budget with my gift-giving this year, but balancing a checkbook has never been my strong suit. Plus, being a blue-collar girl in today's economy, I feel totally out of place at shopping malls, where every twelve-year old is dressed more fashionably than I am. (Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's important to be on-trend while you're running the gauntlet of junior-high). It's been so long since I bought clothes anywhere besides a discount retailer that, after I bought presents for my Dad and my sister at Brookstone, I had an overwhelming urge to stop into Abercrombie & Fitch to get sweatshirt for myself and I don't even like Abercrombie! This is what happens when you're brand-name deprived!

The rest of my gifts will be homemade chocolate truffles. My boyfriends an I picked up some old cigar boxes from a local convenience store for a dollar each, and we're going to load them up with chocolates and maybe peppermint bark and almond brittle. Cheap gifts and you get to keep the box!
