you mind your business and I'll mind mine

I do not have much time (at the library again.) It is Sunday, and Father's day, and I had a card but failed to mail it- so I will call later today.
I miss Emily, but there is a lot to get done, and I suppose getting the house in order is keeping me busy. Ted is good company and would make a wonderful therapy dog if he wasn't mine.
I got all of the big stuff out with the help of Mayhew (finally.) And though I did miss a couple of things that I will need in order to make my weight bench usable (like the bar that holds the weights) and in order to make my computer work (like the monitor cable) they are not things that I actually need in order to organize the house, so I can get some real work done and have been enjoying it, actually. There seems to be a problem with Netflix (it may be as simple as them not having processed the address change) and it is not coming to the house yet, but right now I am not terribly concerned with it.
A younger couple at church today asked me if I moved in directly across the street from them. It turns out I have. I have talked to them before, briefly. They're nice, and the woman is musical. Good neighbors are a blessing.
I arrived at church early today (I quite misjudged how long it would take me to get there on my bike) and talked to the guy that has the garden to the west side of us. His philosophy on life (as he spoke it) was more or less that if the neighbors mind their business, he'll mind his. But in reality, he had a lot to talk about and seemed to really enjoy having someone to talk to. It almost makes me wonder if he ever told anyone about his life before. Of course, if he says "you mind your business and I'll mind mine" maybe they all took him at his word and never asked. I didn't know any better when I approached him, and he was already launched into the details surrounding his first marriage when he said that to me. I ignored it and he just kept talking. He's got a nice garden. My time's up. Time to go see how Ted's doing and unpack Emily's books. I'll get them on the right shelves as best as I can remember. Emily- you might need to reorganize them when you come home.
More later.
