Well, Crap!

J got off the plane last night right on time at 7:30 and I picked her up. Its GREAT to have her home again and imagine how tired she must be and how disoriented after spending five days with my family-of-dying-ageing-and-overwhelmed-ones and then 12 hrs after arriving home, getting on the plane to go to her family-of-old-people-who-are-fundamentalists for five days.

Then imagine both our reactions when a mere 3 hrs after her arrival home and our reunion, my brother called with the extremely ironic news that Mom fell and maybe she broke her hip. Oh, and by the way, N continues to decline and now can mostly not make herself understood, nor can walk across the room even with help.

By a blessed turn of events involving the generosity of a friend of Mom's who has changed plans in order to stay with her, we didn't get in the car at the crack of dawn today, but rather will have time to pack orders and ship them in the morning before leaving then.

At least we get to be together!! This could have happened midway through J's visit to her parent's house, I suppose. There must truly be a god.

And in other news, I have posted a handdyed, handspun, handknit sweater I made on my spinning blog. You can see me in my mother's garden modeling it, and smiling at J.
