It's just so fabulous, isn't it? One of these days we really DO have to start writing children's books featuring all our animals (live and cloth).

Hooray for the Zoe & Mattie show! No wonder Zoe isn't as interested in Butter -- how can she compete with that?
Wonderfulness.

Maybe someday you can catch the Zoe & Mattie peformance with video... the stills hardly do it justice!

She is definitely keeping Zoe entertained...and sometimes exhausted.

Wonderfulness...or total zoo. You be the judge. In my opinion it depends on if you're trying to concentrate on something highly detailed, or not. How's the Butter Bean today?

I once tried to make a collage while a new kitten was in the house with Boodoo. It did not go well -- I can relate.

Butter is great today. I figure something else out every day. Like the fact that she often needs about 10 minutes after she wakes up before she's ready to pee. And that she likes hard floors better than soft beds. And that even though Annette used a powerful grooming dryer on her at least twice, she's not at all happy about the sound a hair dryer makes. And that she just gets prettier every day!

no beds?? glassgirl7 August 29 2007, 21:25:19 UTC
Yikes, does this mean that her PRIMARY FUNCTION, that of snuggle-poodle, cannot be fulfilled?? Could this be a summertime thing? The humidity alone just about has me preferring the hard floor, and for sure Zoe does.

Well, Tony and I are starting to fear that she might not be a bed-dy girl. Not really a snuggler. The first full night she was home, she watched TV with us on the couch. That's been the last instance of snuggling. And so far, she hasn't been much one for bed time. However, it's still very early. It's only been since yesterday that she has started to follow me from room to room and then sleeps where ever I am (which has decreased the need for crate time). So who knows? She's quite independent, though -- definitely not a cling-y dog. And if she never turns into a bed dog, we can always invite Zoe for a sleepover, and perhaps she'll teach Butter the ropes!

Oh, good idea. Just wait for the Age of Jealousy and then invite Zoe over for a sleepover and that's that. Problem solved, two dogs on the bed.

Also, her little life has changed a lot lately, and she never even SAW a bed before a week ago. So...maybe she needs to grow into it. Following you around is a good start.

Oh, and...I keep meaning to suggest...I think you and J should start a lj community for standard poodle lovers! I haven't searched the interest to see how many people have listed it, but I'll be there are quite a few, and you'd at least be starting with four members...I think its brilliant. You'd make new friends, and get to talk poodles with oodles of others.

And just because dogs like to prove you wrong, she spent about 2 hours sleeping on the bed this morning (after an early morning vomit of the sod she's been eating). She's sleeping under my desk by my feet now. The whole sleeping at my feet is a wonderful new development.
