Pre-New
It might be hours of television saying this, but perhaps my only New Years resolution is going to be to start learning how to renovate houses. It reminds me of stage tech, only better. It seems like it would be terribly rewarding and fun. It seems like it would be difficult as hell... but seriously... I want to know how to lay tile, and plumb, install new light fixtures, and install electric. All of that and more. And I want to design, and build, and make a place lovely. Now that I think of it, maybe it's hours of the Sims 2 talking. I want to bring back the skylight. I want lots of windows. I want a stream running through the main bathroom. I emphatically don't want anything to do with travertine. I want shady backyards. Ultimately, I want my own house. I really really want my own house. But before that, I should like to learn some basics on other houses. I want people to join me. Maybe I should build a birdhouse.
