Yep, I'm a Sinner

Today I left in a hurry for work rockin' my IPod along the way, and opted to take the street car.

A minute on the street car, this guy who I had noticed staring at me earlier, but thought nothing of it, tapped me.

"Are you listening to Gospel?"
"No I smiled", thinking maybe he mistakenly recognized a song I was listening to...
"Oh, so you're going to Hell then?.... That's alright, it's easy for girls like you to go there."
"Hmmm..." I know better than to argue with people like this. So I just let him talk.
"Me, I like to listen to Amy Grant. You probably don't like her, huh?" He didn't give me a chance to answer. So I didn't tell him the memories I have blasting Amy Grant with my mom during childhood.
"Yeah, well pretty much the only way women can be famous is to be a pastor's wife or to be a Christian singer." I know I missed something to what he said here while I was completely amused at what I was hearing.

A bit later... He tapped me on the shoulder again.
"I'm sorry to bother you again..."
"yet you are," I thought.
"...but is your heart completely rock hard?"
"No," I replied... and turned back to my music.
"I think it is."
Again, I chose not to argue.

And finally.
"What are you still doing here? Were you going to ask me on a date?"
"Right, I'm going on a date with somebody who told me I'm going to hell," I thought to myself. "No," I replied instead, "I have a boyfriend."
"Ah. My buddy just got married. I'm waiting on God to bring me my Eve, just like Adam. "... something about a naked women.... "Well if you change your mind and want a date, or if you want somebody to do your marriage ceremony, you can just e-mail me at..."

Wow... just wow... so NOT the faith I grew up with. Talk about giving something a bad name...
