A hint of madness, a taste of sadness

On Wednesday night I went and checked my good friends Hancock Basement play a blistering set, their finals performance of the Garage to V comp. They were pipped at the post by The Seabellies, a nice multi talented multi instrumentalist jam band, who managed to ride the momentum of a 'sponatenous' drum jam all the way to the bank... Regardless, my boys are growing up, getting tighter, and rocking the hell out.

Last night, I went out to The Hordern Pavillion, and in the pouring rain, got concrete all through my hair. The delightful mishwah suggested I was it out, and failing getting a ticket to see Fall Out Boy, fell back on the option of checking !!!. From the outside though, I heard 'Sugar, We're Going Down', and so all is kind of ok with the world on the guilty pleasure aspect of things.
ANYWAY, The Cops were a spectacular support act for !!!, new songs, old songs, the works, there is just something so totally right about them - pure, simple, danceable, infectious pop.
!!! were awesome too. Up to 4 people playing percussion at any one time, always two drum kits going in an actually usefull and exciting way (puts Apollo Four Fourty to fucking shame - id forgotten I'd seen them until saw how much !!! pwned them...), and some great moments... Pardon My Freedom, and the two new songs off their new record were the highlights, as well as a crowd that was savagely whipped into a frenzy at points... Worst thing thoug... they DIDDNT PLAY ME AND GUILLIANI!!!!!!!! WTF????
Anyway, a top show indeed, and more than made up for the lack of FOB...

Massive yo! to Nickamc and Ali!

fall out boy, gigs, !!!, hancock basement, the seabellies, the cops
