The sea is beautiful. I love going there when it's windy and listening to the growl of it. I love the sea. How far away is the sea from you?
Yeah, horses are cool in that sense. Except if you're a nervous rider, your nerves get the horse nervy.
I used to have 3 horses - not at the same time. My first was a palamino (yellow) horse called Fiddle. He died of a heart attack. Then I had a dappled grey mare called Lotto who I sold as she got too out of control for me to ride, and then I had this beautiful bay called Hijack. We are sure he was drugged when I got him as he was sweet for the first week, then he went haywire. I was going to audition to be an extra in the LOTR on him, but I had a bad fall with him and lost alot of confidence. We sold him as 1) I was nervy riding him and 2) I had exams the next year, so I wouldn't have time.
Sorry for the long speil.
Sure, when I google NM i'll tell you what comes up. I'll bet the desert can be stunning at times. Is NM very busy?
I am sleeping fine thanks, I hope that you get some rest tonight.
The sea is very far away, the closest would be the gulf of mexico, heh. Never been there though. Actually, i've never seen the ocean, i've missed out on alot.
Wow! You were going to try out as an extra for LOTR? That's so awesome, i would have been stoked hehe. I'm really sorry you've had bad luck with horses, but at least you had them for a short period of time. =) You are lucky in that sense.
Most of NM is very dense in population. There are a few major cities, the one i live in now being the busiest. I live in the city called Albuquerque. It's the biggest city in the state, next to our capital, Santa Fe. I love this city, but when i want solace, i go back to my home town, Grants. It's dead there, it's very calm and peaceful. NM is a beautiful state, and the sunsets are to die for.
Oh wow... I can't believe you've never seen the ocean. My friend from Indiana is the same in that she's never seen it either. I reckon us NZers take it for granted now.
Yeah, alot of people I know auditioned for LOTR. It's a comminality here, lol. I have a friend who's dad is helping paint the set for Godzilla. We keep it in the family here, haha.
Oh ok, thanks for telling me about NM. It sounds so awesome. Grants sounds like a beautiful city. Were you born there? (If I may ask). I found this wicked site, http://www.state.nm.us/ Haha, you can check your lottery tickets on it.
Yah, I've lived in the desert my whole life. I've tired of it, i want a tropical paradise now, haha. Like NZ!
Yah, LOTR made me fall in love with the lush land of NZ, i was in awe the whole time. I bet it was a big thing there at first aye? They are filming Godzilla there? wow! Didn't know that.
NM is a beautiful place. We have many native american ruins. We have what we call "the bad lands" from when a volcano errupted here, and covered the land in molten black lava, so now much of the state is covered in the black obsidian stone from the erruption ages ago. Tis beautiful. When i drive back home to Grants, i pass the badlands, and see the black stone. We have bat and ice caves underground. We have "whitesands" which is a national monument of a park covered in this beautiful white sand. We have so much, it's amazing. I long for you to come here, hehe. Thnx for showing me that site, i can buy lottery tickets now technically lol. One must be 18 or older.
I guess it must get tiring. I think anywhere your whole life would suck after a while.
Haha, LOTR glamorised NZ. Not that it isn't beautiful, tis, but they didn't show ANY of the shitholes here. If you can, try watch Once Were Warriors. It's a fucking AWFUL movie, but it shows what Auckland is like alot.
Ohh wow... that sounds so gorgeous. Black everywhere. When I googled, I saw alot of beautiful rocks and cliffs that reminded me of what i've seen of the Grand Canyon. Wow, Grants sounds so stunning. It's weird, all that beauty and we never hear/see it in NZ. I mean on TV or whatever. Maybe we do, i've never even heard of them though.
Hahaha, lotto tickets suck. My mate Erin buys them all the time. I've never bought one. Funny you guys can buy those and not alcohol aye.
Indeed, surroundings become boring after a long while, and are taken for granted.
Yah, LOTR was a stunning example of NZ. It really brought NZ to yank attention lol. I will definately try to watch that movie you mentioned. I'm curious of Auckland.
Indeed, the black rock is beautiful. NM isn't glorified much, or given much recognition. Alot of americans from back east aren't even aware of NM, they think we are part of the country of mexico. Uninformed fuckers. people have asked me where i'm from, and i say NM, and i've had a few tell me "well wow you speak very good english, being from mexico and all", i just looked at them with this hideous glare, fucking imbeciles. Haha, sorry i'm bitter. But it just blows my mind, how yanks even, aren't aware of U.S. boundaries.
They do suck, a waste of money. I've never won more that $5 from one. I never bought one either, but my family does at times. It is ironic that we cannot buy beer, yet we can blow money on the lottery.
Just a word of warning, that movie is REALLY violent. -It is about a family that is under the regime of a drunken, abusive husband. I have seen it about 7 times and cry everytime. Just warning you, it's brutal :(
:O Holy shit! Why isn't NM given much recognition?? That's ridiculous!!!!! Fuck man, you'd think that it would be well known considering the beauty that it holds aye? Weird man...
Haha yeah. That's so bizarre that your drinking limit's 21. Is it like that in all of the USA?
Thnx for telling me. I definately want to watch it. I'm certain i'll cry too then. Tears are usually bountiful for me. Especially in the face of tragedy.
NM should really be recognized more. It's mainly the eastern states who don't appreciate us. But the south and west know of us, and adore our state. Honestly, i wouldn't want to live in any other state. Another country, of course! lol.
I'm pretty sure it's the same in every state. But other things like gay marriage, and abortion are different from state to state. Now that's bizarre heh.
What morons man. But I guess it is sort of a good thing that not everyone knows about its beauty though - as there will be less tourists polluting it aye. The pics I saw on google and from the postcard you sent me, it does look beautiful. I'd be guarded about it, lol.
I always found that bizzare - that each state has different laws. I guess the USA is huge though.
It's usually only our state capital that gets a rush of tourists. "Santa Fe", it's one of the biggest art capitals in the country actually. People there are very uppity and pompous. I don't enjoy going there, the art isn't really that good either. I HATE southwestern art lol. It's so, dull and mediocre.
Yah the US is pretty broad. It differs from state to state. Kind of scary actually. "The divided states of America", that thought runs thru my head.
That often happens - places that are big tourist attractions are gross. Auckland's like that too. Hahahaha, their art sucks too huh? Bahahahahaha, poor borgeois bastards :P
Mmm yeah... that MUST be scary. I never understood how you guys are (supposedly) one nation and yet SO divided. That's one thing that the election really highlighted, I felt. You'd know better than me though. Living in it.
Indeed. Ah so Auckland is the big tourist attraction there? No wonder you speak ill of it lol, i speak ill of santa fe too. For the same reasons.
It is unsettling. My own fucking country can't even get along. It's all but civil war here. Grr...ah well, hopefully i can find shelter elsewhere in my career? We shall wait and see...
Haha, touristy places are shite huh? Although I do sorta want to go to Coney Island. It looks so cheap and tacky, which is appealing in that I can laugh at it. Have you ever been there?
Indeed, that f-ing sucks. But you know, at least you recognise your country's faults and accept them rather than glorify it. And indeed, I am sure your career will shelter you from the BS of the USA.
Indeed. I've never been to coney island, and i agree, it looks..interesting to say the least haha.
yes, unlike most of my fellow americans, i recognize all the faults in our system. I strive to get away from them, to better this society. Even in the slimmest of ways. Argh it's so frustrating living in America at times.
