I need a break. A day, a week, something. Between writing my script, doing these extensive photo assignments and applying for internships, I am just...burned out. I'm reaching the threshold of officially not caring about a damn thing, which is never good. I'm just really afraid that I'm not going to hear back from any of these internships in time to declare my co-op and then not graduate blah blah blah. Ugh. I hate even thinking about it.
Out other than that, I guess I could say things are going pretty well. (I guess.) I hate complaining on my journal like this, because I hate pandering for sympathy but I guess I feel better about this than constantly complaining to my parents or friends. TASTE MY SAD, LJ.
Oh, also, I
wrote slash for the first time. It was kind of the highlight of the last two weeks.
Last night's Mad Men was pretty interesting, if not just a teeny bit disappoint. REACTIONS BELOW.
Pros:
- New Office! So shiny! So new! I adored the art in Peggy and Joey's office. It definitely seemed a little more swank than Sterling Cooper, even though I do miss that place.
- PEGGY IS TURNING INTO A HBIC, AND I LOVE IT. SHE HAS A BIG BUSINESS DICK. Between her basically creating black friday madness and giving orders to Joey, she was confident and awesome. In her last scene with Don, it was clear that she was accepting responsibility, but not letting Don just walk all over her.
- Joey, you so cute. I wonder what Pete thinks of him.
- My brain definitely pulled a OMG ITS JOAN AND HARRY AND ROGER AND LANE ANDJFRJJJLJGKRL.
- Don's date, Sarah Newlin. I think the ladies on this show are finally realizing they get to have self-respect. I'd love this to be a season where Don realizes that his system of sticking his dick in everything because he can because he's Don Draper is only going to get him so far anymore. She was totally refreshing, turning Don down respectfully but firmly.
- Whatever Chicken Kiev is, it sounds delicious.
Cons:
- Don Draper is a trainwreck. His proposal to the bathing suit company was so creepy and his way of "handling business" was just...awkward. I agreed that the company needed to stop being so damn prudish, but his way of handling it, aka yelling at them to leave the office and generally being an ass to everyone was awful. I don't know if I'm ready to handle an entire season of Don being this way. Remember how much fun Buffy Season 6 was? (Without the musical episode?) Yeah, it might be like that. Also, DON DRAPER LIKES IT WHEN HOOKERS SMACK HIM AROUND. WHAT.
- Roger, you're still with the teenager and now you're on the cusp of being boring. I know, its been a whole episode and and you had the best lines in the whole episode, but honey, I like you best when you're seducing someone in a hotel.
- Not NEARLY enough Pete, Joan, Harry, Roger, Lane, Bert, etc.
- Betty and Henry. Just...whatever.
- WHERE IS PAUL KINSEY. I KNOW WHY SAL IS GONE AND I'M STILL CRYING ABOUT IT, BUT IF WE NEVER GET AN EXPLANATION FOR WHY PAUL KINSEY HAS LEFT US, I WILL BE SO DISAPPOINT.
Overall, I get this this is a new era of Mad Men with a new office and such, but...I missed a few things. The colors, the boys drinking and judging people in their office, SAL AND KINSEY, but I'm excited for where everything goes.
