I like to watch documentaries and shows on youtube because I don't have a TV or Netflix. I was watching something on history and differences in capital punishment in various parts of the world and then on the side of "recommended videos" there was something that was very unsettling. When they have videos, there is always a still image of a scene from the video, and I had a twisted gut feeling of something wrong when I saw it...I clicked on it to hope I was wrong because I knew I had to report it if it was what I thought it was
It was titled "rape". It was a video that was posted about a month ago. It was in the Philippines and it was a video of a young boy (maybe 10 or 11 years old) being held down. He was naked and restrained and being watched by a small group. They were laughing and poking his penis with a foot. The boy was clearly distressed. It was so disgusting and I was shocked that it had about 300 views and that it was still up. How come nobody reported it? I flagged it as child abuse, and kept checking the link, hoping it would be taken down. I was preparing myself to write a letter, call etc. if they didn't think it was necessary to delete it soon. Finally, I went to bed after it was still up two hours after I reported it. I woke up this morning to check it and was so relieved that it had FINALLY been pulled off. I hope that it falls into the hands of authority, but I don't know if youtube has the ability to do that. I don't even know if they can trace it back to find the person who uploaded it. I'm just in shock. How could 300 something people just watch that and not report it? Poor child.
