Tomorrow I go into hospital for a Cardiac Cath and the end of the Pfizer drug study. Two years of swallowing 4 huge pills everyday. It got to be a psychically thing after awhile. The pills mocking me and me putting off taking them for as long as possible. They frequently made me sick to my stomach. This is not a weight loss I would recommend to anyone. Every three months I got an EKG and my blood taken. God only knows what Pfizer is doing with the leftover blood. Well I do know. When I signed up they wanted me to sign a release that they could use and leftover blood to do genetic research. Told them to use their own blood. :P All we have in the end is our own bodies and I reserve the right to who gets to play around with mine :-D
The Cardiac Cath and the IVUS are to check and see if I have anymore gunked up arteries. For those who don't know, I have Congestive Heart Failure, cause by a virus attaching the heart muscle. This causes the heart to grow very big, but not to work very effectively. In my case I pump in blood fine, but the pumping out is very impaired. My heart only pumps out at 3/4 the normal rate. In fact my heart has grown so big that last year when I had pneumonia, they couldn't see my lung because my heart covered most of it. If left unchecked the heart keeps growing and keeps losing effectiveness in pumping till you die. My heart has stopped growing for now. But I have developed side heart problems. Blocked arteries for one. So now I have a heart like your grandmother, lucky girl that I am. I tend to be the youngest person in the study :-P
They are not quite sure why it has stopped growing, and I am very mindful of the ticking clock. When I was first diagnosed they gave me 2 to 3 years. But things are looking up a bit now. So if you were thinking of spamming KD, don't. My heart isn't that big :-D
Side effects are I am exhausted most of the time and it has nothing to do with activity. I have interment pains around my heart and I am often sick to my stomach. The tummy stuff is most likely all the medications I take.
My daughter made me a tee shirt that says I AM A PFIZER LAB RAT. It annoys the pfizer people, which is a good reason to wear it. I am going to wear it to the hospital tomorrow.
See all of you soon. I am not sure if the they will keep me over night. I hope not. It is safer at home, with germs I know and love. I have had 4 Cardic Caths and 3 they let me go home the same day. One the stupid doctor thought he was doing me a favor by keeping me over night. Arse, he is probably the kind of man who gives his wife a toaster for her birthday :D
I should be back this weekend at the latest :-)
