Mason-Dixon Knitting Baby Kimono in cotton thread. The nasty orangery bit in the background is a washcloth. I have no idea why I knitted that. A momentary madness :P
The Kimono is a quick knit, quite baby proof. Just chuck into the washer and dryer. After the baby has outgrown it, you could always use it to wash up. Cotton yarn lasts forever.
I fiddled a bit with the pattern, added the eyelet edging and such.
Mason-Dixon Knitting is a book that is turning, young women into knitting Lucys and Ethels. Lime green and bright blue are back, as are hand knit dishrags. It is a bit worrying. I remember my great aunts had a drawers full of those things. To check out the full madness visit
