i've been meaning to write something for the past two or three weeks, but as you can tell it hasn't happened. i've been either preoccupied or too lazy or too tired to do it....but now i decided it was time to start something.
it's officially summer for me now. one, because i'm home finally and two, because i don't have a job. michigan has the country's worst economy and bay county has the worst economy in the state....go figure.
the job i had last summer that i'm suppose to have again, pool monitor at an apartment complex, was given to some douche who literally never shows up and leaves it unlocked every night so things are broken and stolen. i've been out job searching like before and of course there is nothing i can get. last year i turned in 72applications. the summer before i turned in 98. i either called back or showed up again to check on it/them, and nothing. they'd rather hire 14year olds who only work 1-3hours a week and have no transportation than someone that needs the money and are of higher intelligence. the only way you can get a job here is if you're related to the owner, so i've been pretty much screwed since the beginning. hell, i can't even get into fastfood places as my last resort, and that's depressing.
ok...let's move onto track. i scratched the 800 because it was stacked and we decided it be best that i go after a medal in the 1500. the 800 went by and i could have easily made finals. the 1500 comes along and i find myself leading immediately. i slowed down so someone else would take it but noone would. at the 300 mark some calvin bolted off and most of the pack followed. i couldn't keep up and ended up 7th with a 4:10....i ran 4:07.99 at northwood the week before and won.
the 800 final comes by the next day and i could have won it easily because everyone was in a pack the entire time. i ran the 5k as well that day with a 16:45 and like 11th so not bad. the next week i went to ann arbor/u of m for a meet and ran a 1:57.57 for my 800....a pr and a time that would have won conference.
i went diving last week for the first time since that conference. i smacked off of 3m of course. when i was on 1m i hit the board hardcore with my feet on a 105c. apparently i still have those. so my feet are all cut up and gauged and whatnot. it was fun though. i'd like to go dive with some people right now actually.
but it's summer now, so i see my best friends daily or close enough to it. i am back into skateboarding for the season with everybody from around bay city so that's cool. i saw most of them last night at the skatepark. it was like a family reunion, i love those guys.
i hope i get to visit or get visited by some people this summer too. there are a select few i'd really like to see, but we'll see if something can happen.
this is only long due to the fact that i haven't written in 3ish weeks. the others will be more direct and fulfilling rather than random talking as this one is.
