“Hey, thanks for the help.”
“Don’t mention it.”
“I would have signed up for the FBI sooner if I knew it would be like this.”
“Yeah, I’m pretty damn great aren’t I?”
“I meant the case.”
“So did I.”
Ian smirked to himself as he walked toward the elevator catching Nikki’s “Uh, huh” as she turned around to walk back to her desk. She was an unlikely match for Don’s team, a contrast to the other female agents he’d worked with, but he’d seen her type before.
She was brash, cocky, and ready to prove her worth to anyone who gave her a chance, and Ian knew it wouldn’t be long before she was brought down a few notches. Nevertheless, he liked her fire, her sass. Not many would have stood up to him like she did when they first met - his reputation intimidating them - but Agent Betancourt didn’t back down from the challenge; a true overachiever indeed.
And she was pretty too. Not to say that Agents Lake, Reeves and Warner weren’t gorgeous, but there was something about Agent Betancourt that caught Ian’s eye. Her full curls, her expressive eyes, the tough roll of her hips from left to right when she walked - all these features helped to portray her confidence, strength, and ability to stand strong in tough situations.
Right now Ian had a plane to catch and a fugitive stockbroker to track, but he knew it would only be a matter of time until he was working with Don and his team again. Agent Betancourt was on Ian’s radar; and Ian always got his target.
