Sonnet: A Poem

BE STILL MY BEATING HEART! First moved and culled,
Now gone lukewarm and tepid by your call,
Like gulps of water I swallow, too full
Of bubbles whispering secrets to shore,
And like the filmed globes I hold-- watch it shine!
Its fragile strength sings a scented song
Whose echoes remind me how we belong
In a perfection thought too hard to find.
Yet bubbles can burst, and secrets no shame,
  Unbroken fragility is reserved
In another world for those with no name,
Realize, in the end, it's water, it drips,
  Remember its feeling down fingertips,
It's love first, lighted by another flame.
