I'm a winner!!
I made it to the final two!! I am SO excited!!
I'll be competing for the grand prize against one other contestant on Saturday the 16th at 12pm. If anyone would like to come watch, it's being held in Oxnard - general details about the festival are here.
Seriously, this is cool. I've never done anything like this, but I've been pushing myself to start getting out there as a chef and it's nice that my first effort seems to be going well. The final competition is going to be a bit intense - I guess there's a local daytime talk show host hosting the contest, and she'll be asking questions while we're cooking. I'll need to be able to cook and chat and still hustle, while on stage in front of judges.
But whatever happens, I'm excited I made it this far. The six semi-finalists were chosen out of 76 entries, and I made it to the top two. I could rest with that. I'd love the grand prize, of course - but either way, this was really fun.
