Weekend with the parents...
Not mine unfortunately, but Kathleen's. It wasn't really bad however spending an hour and a half with the parents of the girl your dating is kind of nerve racking, especially when the girl has to leave to go to her show. Then you have to hang out with her folks. Her mother reminds me of my grandmother, but that just might be because of the stiffness involved in all of this. But i did have a fairly interesting talk with her about my career choices, i figured that might interest her since she's an adviser at Chatt State. The father was a little different however, hard to connect with men at age 19 when the men are around 50. I'd say my pops and uncle are about the only ones i can do this with, others just get the "mindless, boring, getting to know you chit-chat." And then there's the awkward silences, and lets just say they really suck. Worse yet is when the dance show that you and your girlfriends parents are watching, with the exception of 2 sets, is like one long, horrible brittney spears video. At least the girlfriend wasn't in one of those, but doing swing instead. Hopefully when i head home with Kathleen this coming weekend things won't be quite as stiff feeling, might have just been me though. The rest of the weekend went considerably better however. Went to see the punisher with brian, it was ok i'd wait for video however. Saw Kathleen perform again on saturday, to a sold out theatre, and she did spectacular, i was proud. I can't wait until she makes me learn how to throw her around(insert sarcasm here). I took her out to La siesta, would have gone to a nicer place but she loves the food there, and i let her choose where she wanted to go. Sunday was alright, i read a lot and studied for my exam today. Played some D&D after that and then went to bed. It was a good weekend, the thing with the parents was kinda stiff but hopefully that will change, we'll see how the coming weekend goes.
