Nothing beats doing some desperately neede grocery shopping and laundry on the same day. Not to mention the fact that I pulled off my first mini-recital with some degree of success. It's been a good day.

I'm reading Waiting for the Macaws, written by Terry Glavin, Zoë's dad. It's a rather depressing account of how languages, cultures, animals, and plants, are all going extinct. Did you know that 86% of the apple varieties that existed 100 years ago are now extinct? The same goes for pretty much every fruit and vegetable out there. Hybrid breeds are created for the purpose of sameness in shape and long shelf lives, and all other kinds disappear.
