the end is nigh

Oh boy. It is really time for this school year to end. Everyone's got that snippy I-need-a-break-from-this-place attitude. Like today at lunch, Alexia and I got in a ridiculous argument about lettuce, which came out of nowhere. I don't even want to go into it, it was so stupid, but it showed how desperate we are for summer vacation. We're both very stressed, very burned-out people who are drowning in our wax, and can't stand to be proven wrong by the other because of some silent academic rivalry that we had brought up with us from middle school. On top of that, I seem to be pissed at nothing all day, every day, whenever I'm at school, because I'm so sick of this place, so that only added to it. Blech, just four more days left. Actually, I don't really count tomorrow, because I'm missing French to practice with the band for graduation and then the senior send-off assembly is in the afternoon.

The drama banquet put me in a better mood. Guess who I sat next to the whole time~?! And it wasn't awkward... at all. In fact it was very, very close to how we acted before I asked him out. The joking, heckling, and laughing came just like before, he let me feel his newly-shaved head, and we even discussed our Freddy vs. Jason spoof that we still want to film. While Miss Harper was announcing the mock awards, we made a huge deal of pointing to the person we thought was going to get it and about 90% of the time, we were right. XD During the peer awards, which we all actually voted on, we were more serious. ...Just a little. You can't be too serious in drama.

I couldn't help but beam when Jonah won Best Male Newcomer. He so deserved it, especially after that performance in Ten Little Indians. He played an excellent villain, and it was such a juicy role too. When the award for Best Actress came up, he nudged me and I just shook my head. I'd been assuming that it would probably be Jill, because these are usually based off of the spring play and she had had a much larger role in that one. Plus, she's a senior.

As it turns out, yeah, I was voted Best Actress for this year, and Adam was Best Actor (cousin power). I also got The Spirit of Central Theatre Association award, Best Adlibber, and then a mock award for my "high scene" in Nunsense. I don't get the adlibber one. I hardly adlibbed, unless they were referring to the theatre productions performances. I had to improvise for an entire scene because my cast-mate neglected to study her lines. Besides, the plan was for it to be "Not Eddie," not me!

Soooo~ this jumps ahead quite a bit, but guess what play Miss Harper is considering for next fall?

Sleepy Hollow.

And we'd perform it right around Halloween. How perfect would that be?

banquet, drama, school sucks
