Ug. I did not get that job. However, he kept telling me to watch for another opening. And a lady who works for the district overheard my sob story in the grocery store and said, "Yeah, someone in grounds just put in their two weeks, and someone from maintenance usually transfers over, and it takes about two weeks for all the shifts to transfer over. So there should be another opening in maintenance."
Sooooo getting this job is sorta like the carrot on a stick. It will solve all of my problems. All of them (knock on wood).
Currently there's an opening for grounds crew posted on the site that says one year of grounds maintenance work required to apply for it. So I dunno if I should wait and watch for a maintenance spot to magically appear or apply to that one and look stupid, because a grounds maintenance job is not something I have ever had.
I hate this, I hate this so damn much I can taste it.
