Don't you just find it silly that people think their photos look better just because it's black and white. I really have no idea what to say except a very hesitant "yeah..."
Anything else I had in mind to say would have been offensive. That's why I'd rather be quiet most of the time. (It just occurred to me.)
Being an amateur photographer I'd say I do have a right to criticize or otherwise appreciate other photographer's work. I really don't. So I know how to compose a picture reasonably. I'm able to find the right exposure. I know fast shutter speed captures fast actions and a wide aperture could create a low depth of field.
And then what? Nothing. I know how to take good-looking conventional pictures that looks good conventionally. But ultimately, they're just pictures that don't mean anything.
A picture doesn't become good just because an effect is applied to it. black and white, mosaic... wadeva.
So I'd like to know, what makes a good picture? What makes a picture legendary? Worth remembering? What do you think?
