Citizen Kane

Sep 02, 2008 00:01

Today for Labor Day I sat around watching Citizen Kane and a Documentary about said film.(The Battle Over Citizen Kane) Can you say depresssing-rama? So yea, I hadn't seen CK since I was like 11, and I thought it was, like the sign said, "Terrific." I really enjoyed all of it* especially the bits of humor thrown in. Thatcher's reactions to Kane's choices, and how fun Everett Sloane was in this compared to in Lady from Shanghai. My favorite part of the afternoon's viewing? The tiny clip of young Orson almost talking in his own person "apologizing" for the fuss made during War of the Worlds. God I wish they didn't cut out and then talk over it. I would love to get my hands on the whole thing. Lovely.

*-almost, the Susan stuff set me on edge. Too much yelling.

News Break: We interrupt this journal entry to announce just now madamegiry has ordered "Naked Tango" for me on DVD because I don't have a Ebay account. I am this close to running around the house hollering at the top of my lungs. I won't as Kelly is sleeping, and Marc will give me a funny look. (If you know Marc you'll know a look is enough) YAY! A reason to live a while longer!
