The best thing, I think, about magick and paganism in general is that it opens your mind to a lot of other things. It really made me look at the world in a more positive manner, accept myself, accept others, and realize that I have the power within me to set anything I want into motion.
I still believe in chakras, reincarnation, karma, astral projection, ghosts, etc., but I'm on a more spiritual path than anything else. As far as gods and goddesses go, and this is just my own thoughts, mind you, I've found that I believe they're all (all meaning Christian, Hindu, anything) a graspable manifestation of ourselves. It's easier to trust wisdom residing within you if you can say it came from a higher outside source. Like, I still talk to my goddess (I have a spirit familiar - a cute little black dog with a white paw) and all that, but to me now it's more that...it's my own thoughts, I guess? Like, if I consciously talk to myself, I find it harder to believe than if I say I'm talking to something higher than me. But I think it really all comes from me anyway. With the spirit animal, I'm more like...it COULD be me, but he could also be a ghost. I believe he's a ghost because he let me connect with him a few years ago and I saw that he'd had an abusive owner who beat him to death. HORRIBLE. But yeah...I rambled, but my point of this paragraph was that I personally have come to think of gods and goddesses as a more easily approached extension of ourselves...like their knowledge comes from me, it's just easier for me to accept that advice and help if I can label it as something other than me...if that makes sense.
You're like the only person on my list I can talk to about this. Well, like two other people, but yeah. Awesome.
i beliebe that gods are all one... it's kinda like the old egyptian religion.. sekhmet is bast who is ra. ra is the one power.. but of course, all gods are an extension of themselves.. it's like there's this one sphere of energy that is split to better act upon it's believers..
i don't know.. it might not sound right.. but i just woke up.
I didn't make this one personally, but I did figure out how to do the border myself. I just made the following four brushes. Then, IN ORDER, you use them on four frames of an icon:
you know.. i was thinking it was something like that.. but i didn't think it would take more than 3 frames.. but i'm glad you let me know it's really 4..
but thank you for relaying the magniforous wisdom.
