Bring on the spinach salads!

I am officially off Coumadin!

I went to see my hematologist on Friday, and we discussed things. He stressed that I am still at risk, and that he really doesn't want to see me have a stroke. Dude, I think we're all agreed on that one. But keeping me on a drug that is the second most likely prescription drug to send you to the hospital did not seem like a good idea if the reasoning is "just to be on the safe side." So we talked it over, he talked to Dr.WonderWoman (she's so fabulous) and I haven't taken any rat poison since Thursday night.

If I sound restrained it's because in two months I have to go back for one more round of tests. After that I'll either be off of it for good or on it for life. No pressure. Oh, and if I ever have another clotting incident, there is no discussion; I'll be on it for life.

But until then I've been going crazy with the salads, about one a day. I LOVE salad. I love dark green leafy vegetables! Sometime this week I'm going to go to the fancy restaurant next to my office and have their spinach salad with walnuts, goat cheese and cranberries and it will be awesome.

Hm. Now that I can eat whatever I want, I should really start an official diet of some sort. Maybe South Beach? Suggestions are welcome.

Oh, and YAY!!!
