Sony

My interview last night was 3.5 hours long - it was gruelling. I lost the plot about half way through i think - as it was almost impossible to keep that 'interview - top performance chirpiness' going. I had spelling and grammer tests, email responses to write to. Typing test, 2 role playing, 4 interviews with 4 people, tour of the office - etc etc.

Anyways I GOT THE JOB! Its for Sitel (massive corp) working on behalf of the Sony contract

It's a big fucking deal and contract for Sitel - so thats why the interviews where so hard - and long. Which makes me question why such a massive important company pays such peanuts. 'we want top quality customer service people' i was told, - if thats so - then you need to pay the proper money i think for top notch professionals - but hey - its a recession and employers market.

But the feedback was great - not only was i the first one to get my offer (well before 10am after the interview finishing at nearly 7pm yesterday) they love me, and think i was great - they said if i do well they have me earmarked for promotion as they know i have been a supervisor in the past. YEAH!

Although worst case senerio - this maybe just a xmas '3 month' temp job - but if i do well and they get alot of calls in the new year/jan they will keep some on. (working in call centres i know all industries go quiet in the first few months of the year). If i go past 3 months - my raise will be a massive 25p p/h WOO HOO

However i do see this as a great foot in the door, and even 3 months working on the sony/sitel contract would look pretty sweet on my cv. But hopefully i keep my head down and just rise up the ranks quitely.

Best of all - i can cycle to work. 1.5 miles away from my flat this job is. Might have to treat myself to some new bike lights...
