This is very sad. Gee Nicholl changed my life, and I'll be grateful to her for as long as I live.

I can't imagine what life would have been like if I hadn't received a fellowship. The people I never would have known, and the adventures I never would have enjoyed/survived.

Take that life-changing experience, and multiply it dozens of times. She provided that to all the Fellows - and the finalists, and the semi-finalists . . .

Look at the names of writers who blossomed because of her support. What an amazing legacy to leave the world, and especially to the writers who benefited dramatically from her generosity and kindness. She validated our passion, and that feeling is overwhelming.

Amazing woman, amazing life.
