Long way from Conway (36/?)

Thanks to groffiction for this AMAZING banner!

A/N: I don't even know what this is. I wrote this during a basketball game and 2 NFL playoff games. Sue me.
LOL this is what I call a plot and fluff sandwich. While I start off with plot, I fix it with a good amount of Kradam fluff, and then end with more plot! Hope you LOVE the fluff as much as I do (don't ask me how I thought of that, because I have no clue) and I hope you don't hate me for the plot part! ENJOY!

"Hey David, we need you to take a case downtown since Garther is on vacation," A.J., a new and fellow cop, said walking into David's office. Suddenly, he saw a few papers and pictures on his desk, and the question came up. "Hey, what's all that on your desk?"

David sighed. "A.J., what have I told you about getting into other people's business?"

"Sorry Sir, but weren't we told not to do any secret work unless it was relevant to a case we've been assigned?"

"Yes," David reluctantly mumbled, "but I have to do this case. Two teenager's lives could be in jeopardy if I don't, so don't go blabbing to the boss about this."

"Who's it for?" A.J. asked, picking up one of the papers. Snatching them away immediately, David began to shove everything into his desk so that he wouldn't see.

That's when the gun reared his ugly head.

"Oh my gosh, that's a gun!" A.J. screamed, jumping away as fast as his small legs could get him. David groaned, grabbing the gun faster than he thought he could and shoving it into the now crammed drawer to shut A.J. up. The last thing he needed was the kid screaming the word 'gun' at the top of his lungs when their boss could walk by any moment.

"Hey, kid, shush, okay?" A.J. still was frozen in shock, but he at least shut up. "I'm doing the kids a favor by having this in my possession. This was a potential murder weapon, and I got it. Keep your mouth shut and nothing bad will happen."

"T-That's a g-gun."

"I think we've established that, kid."

A.J. ran his hand through his hair shakily. "Do you seriously think you could get away with stopping a murder without the boss knowing? I mean, he knows things, David."

"Well, then how's about we take a chance by not saying anything, and see how things go?" David knew how A.J. was when scared. Unless he was faced with an immediate situation, the kid was always skittish and worried about everything when scared. The only reason he was an undercover cop was because of the fact that he could take care of business when it meant life or death. He had a way with a gun, but he could only shoot well when it actually was depended on. He actually was a strong and cooperative dude, but as always, he could only show it when it was needed.

Well now, it was needed.

"Now, I'm going to go get a cup of coffee at the coffee shop with Freelin and Edwards and then come straight back to work on that case downtown. If I see any of my things messed up in that drawer, I will have your butt kicked thoroughly before you are fired, do you understand me?"

A.J. nodded. He watched closely as David left the room, saluting when he had turned around to warn him once more, and then let out a big breath of relief when he was gone. David secretly scared A.J., and even though he knew in the bottom of his heart that he would make sure he was beaten to a pulp if he looked into that drawer, it was just calling to him. His curiosity was calling to him.

He had to take a peek.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kris woke that morning to find Adam sprawled across one side of the bed, leaving him on the edge of the bed with no blankets and only inches to move before falling off the side. He let out a big groan-for more than one reason, but that's beyond the point at the moment-and then shoved Adam in the side. The big raven-haired man moaned in protest, snuggling deeper into his covers with a content sigh.

Kris kicked his legs.

"OW!" Adam yelled in horror. "What the heck, Kris?"

Kris snorted. "You have the nerve to take all the covers-while I'm naked, may I say-and shove me to the edge of the bed and say 'what the heck' to me?"

Adam giggled, and then suddenly, Kris was on the ground with a thump. He gasped in mock-horror as his fiance' snuggled into the covers even more and took up the whole bed as best as he possibly could.

"Oh you are SO dead, Lambert."

"Oh really.....MMPH!"

Adam's eyes flew open to see his adorable Kris straddling his waist, a huge smirk on his face. The little freak had jumped on top off him in a matter of seconds, and now, he was pinned down tight.

"Kristopher, get off of me."

"No."

"Kris, please-"

"No."

"Kris, you are naked and on top of me. I'm tired. Get off of me."

"No."

"Kris-"

"You stole all the covers and left me to freeze."

"I didn't-"

"You pushed me to the edge of the bed instead of holding me close like you always do."

"I was asleep!"

Suddenly, Kris was inches from Adam's face, his breath hitting Adam's face in quiet wisps. He was staring directly into his lover's face with those devastating brown eyes and looked like he had no intention of ever getting up.

"You need to be punished for this."

Adam swallowed his tongue.

"But," Kris said in a husky and seductive tone,"....you're gonna' wait."

Adam couldn't even open his mouth in shock before Kris hopped off Adam and scampered into the bathroom, locking the door behind him with a laugh. As soon as Adam's brain finally caught up with himself, he too hopped off the bed and ran to the bathroom, only knocking fiercely on the door instead of running in like Kris did.

"KRIS!" Adam screamed through the wooden door at the top of his lungs.

"Be a good boy and wait!" Kris chirped merrily.

"TEASE!"

"And you love it!" Kris said again. "Now get dressed in a bathing suit and meet me downstairs!"

"But...but....it's still cold outside!" Adam shrieked childishly. "And what pool?"

Adam swore Kris was smirking behind that door. "You'll see!"

So, the whipped boy he is, Adam walked away from the door and went to go get dressed like he was asked to.

Who knows what Kris had in store...

------------------------------------------------------------

He was gonna' do it, no matter what David said.

The first thing A.J. did was shut the door. He couldn't possibly afford to get caught by the boss. Then, he scrambled over and knelt down by the drawer, cracking it open just so that he could see he shine of that terrifying gun.

I can do this. Just open the drawer.

And there it was. The gun shone brightly in the dim light, and it looked expensive if A.J. had anything to say about it. He gently took the gun out and smiled as he felt the smoothness.

"Excuse me-"

"WHOA!"

A.J. nearly threw the gun in the air in surprise, making the person at the door giggle. She walked in with a smile, he hair shiny and her clothes making her look younger than she probably was.

"Are you David?" She asked, batting her eyelashes.

"Um...no, no! No, I'm uh, Officer A.J., but...you can call me A.J. if you'd like."

The girl smiled and then eyed the gun, silent relief drifting over her face. "Oh, there it is!"

A.J. looked down to the gun in his hands and then back up at her in confusion. "This? This gun?"

"Yes! David wanted me to pick this up! I'm a friend of his. He wanted me to see if I would find any finger prints to indicate the original owner of it. Can ya' hand it over to me? My car's running."

This is where A.J. should've thought like a cop. He should've ignored the fact she was pretty. He should've thought about why she would leave her car running when visiting a friend. He should've realized that David was hiding it for a reason. He should've asked her more questions.

He should've said no.

But he didn't.

"Oh, sure! Here, take it. I was just fooling around with it."

The girl gladly took it and shoved it into her purse. With a smile and a girly 'thanks', she made her way to the door.

"Oh, and uh, should I tell David you came?"

She hesitated, but then nodded. "Tell him H. got it. See you later, cutie!"

As she walked out the door, two things happened.

One, A.J. drooled on his shoes.

And two, he made the biggest mistake ever.

He let a potential killer get away with a murder weapon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"KRIS, WILL YOU HURRY UP?" Adam yelled from the living room, his whole body freezing. "NO ONE'S HERE, I'M FREEZING MY BUTT OFF, AND I REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON!"

"Coming, coming..."

Adam turned around and nearly lost his mind. Kris was wearing shiny black swim trunks (and nothing else), had his hair all messed up in the hottest way, and was smirking like the sneaky little devil Adam knew he was.

"Kris-"

"Shush," he warned, "or else I will make you pay even more."

Oh crap.

"Now," he continued, "we will do as such. I have found, thanks to Neil, a little old blow up pool in your attic."

"You went up in an attic with Neil?" Adam asked with a smirk now on his own face.

"Beside the point. Anyway, I've filled it with one of your favorite sweets."

"Ice cream?"

"Better," Kris giggled. "Chocolate."

Adam whimpered.

"I've also set up a chair out there. You will be sitting there while I take a dip into that pool."

"Oh hell no," Adam choked out, his mind reeling. "I'm going to die, Kris. If Crystal doesn't kill me first, I'm going to die."

Suddenly, Kris was directly in front of his with a finger to his chest and the most serious of looks on his face. It both turned on and confused Adam.

"Don't. Mention. Her. Name."

All Adam could do was nod, considering how close Kris was to him and how dazzled his mind was at the moment. Once Kris got that Adam understood, he walked towards the sliding glass door to the backyard as sexily as he could muster. Then, he turned around and motioned with his finger for Adam to come and follow him.

Adam tripped.

And fell.

And repeated.

Twice.

Finally, Adam walked outside to see just what Kris had set up for him.

It looked like someone was setting up a prank. Just like Kris had said, one of his childhood pools-that he clearly remembers Neil peeing in when he was 2, a fact he chooses to forget at the moment-was completely filled to the brim with chocolate sauce-that probably was pretty warm despite the cold weather and considering the amount of steam coming off of it at the moment. The chair Kris had talked about was one of the kitchen table chairs-oh Leila was going to kill them later-and it had a pair of handcuffs laying on the seat.

I'm going to die. I'm a junior and high school and I'm going to die because of my hot fiance'. Eat this, straight bully high school guys scared about getting their girl's preggers.

Kris smirked and lead his clearly dazed-and-confused lover over to the chair, snatching the handcuffs, which he got from some magic kit at the dollar store, up before plopping Adam down a bit forcefully.

"Adam, these handcuffs will keep you still. I'll only let you out of them when I'm done taking a dip. Oh, and by the way, you'll be the one to get this chocolate off me, not the shower."

Adam let out a pained whimper.

Once his wrists were restrained, Adam watched in horror as Kris slinked over to the pool and stuck his foot in. He shot a look over to Adam, which silenced him from his whimpers momentarily, and then put his other one in. Next, Kris sat down into the warm chocolate and let out a long 'mmmm' at the feel of it and at the noise of Adam trying to get out of the handcuffs. He then began to roll around in it, and found that the sauce was pretty slippery compared to how he imagined it to be. Suddenly, when he looked up, he saw Adam with his head thrown back and his wrists strangling to escape.

"Mmmmm, this is so good looking," Kris murmured, "I wonder how it tastes..."

"Oh gosh, Kris," Adam gasped, "please stop."

Of course, Kris didn't listen, taking a lick of the chocolate from his finger. Adam let out another strangled moan.

"Okay, okay," Kris huskily said, sitting up in his pool, "I'll give you a taste, too."

Watching Kris walk in all that chocolate up to him was too painful to bear. But it was all-too-satisfying when he landed on his lap and placed a chocolaty kiss to his lips. Adam began to quickly lick as much chocolate off as he could, straining to hold Kris still with his restrained hands. Then, it hit him.

When did he have the time to do this?

"You little devil," Adam growled in between a kiss, "you set this all up."

"Mmm, how?" Kris moaned, enjoying Adam licking his neck.

"You slid to the side of the bed, gave me all the covers, got up, made the pool and stuff, and then got up and went to bed."

Kris smiled, in too much pleasure to care. "Mmm....you got me, red-handed. But you know what color I'm going to leave you?"

Adam shook his head, planting a sloppy kiss on his lips. "No, what?"

"Blue."

Then, he was gone.

Just like that.

Into the house.

Leaving Adam to gasp and cry for him, while Kris left satisfied.

The plan worked.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

David walked in with a smile and a full cup of coffee in his hands to his office to find everything was untouched. A long sigh left his lips in relief, and he made his way to his chair.

That's when he noticed the drawer was slightly open.

Okay, he thought to himself calmly, I was in a rush when I shut it. It could've bounced back and opened a bit. No harm done.

Heart racing and adrenaline pumping, David opened the drawer fully.

He gasped.

The gun wasn't there.

The murder weapon is gone.

"A.J.!!!!!!!!"
