----------------------------------------------------------------------------
{flash forward about 4 days}
"Oh Brad, please don't sing that," Adam said at lunch time with Kris at his side cuddling up to him, "you'll make a big fool of yourself."
Brad smirked. He had written a song about himself that totally would make him a laughing stock and probably the center of all bullying for a month by the football team. Yeah, Adam liked it, but he also liked having Brad alive and not having Allison put in danger to protect him.
"You're just over-reacting, Adam. Come tomorrow, I'm going to sing it. Or, better yet, I could make a music video! I have a few friends who could be my back-up dancers, I have the equipment.....oh this will be awesome!"
Adam rolled his eyes and took a bite of his pizza slice. "I can't wait."
"Hey," Kris muttered quietly to Adam, "can I talk to you? Alone?"
Oh dear, what did I do?
"Ummm....sure. Uh guys," he casually said to the group, "we'll be right back."
Everyone watched confused as Adam and Kris left the table and headed out into the outside courtyard without a word spoken to each other.
They knew something was up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kris could tell Adam's apprehensiveness immediately when they crossed through the huge glass doors into the nice and quiet courtyard, filled with random groups of people eating carelessly on the warm grass. Adam had no clue what was going on. He looked frightened that something really was wrong, considering all that had happened and his determined way of keep Kris happy ever since then. Taking Adam's hand gently, Kris sat Adam down on one of the benches and took a big deep breath, exhaling with a look of annoyance.
"Adam," he started, "my Dad wants me to stay home for a whole week of school so that we can 'reconnect' our family. I...I'm not gonna be able to see you for a whole week."
Adam nearly fainted. He just had to keep Kris near him. What would happen if he got hurt because of this? Last time they were apart, Kris almost got killed by the two most hurtful people on the planet! It was a big slap in the face that brought him to want to cry.
"But....I don't want you to be hurt.....we can't be apart, Kris!"
Kris nodded and sat down next to Adam, wrapping his hand through his lovingly. He just knew something like this was bound to happen.
"I'll be fine. I promise. Besides, I can call you late at night when they are all asleep, so we can at least talk. You know, it's not the end of the world. After that week, I can be with you all I want to be without him having a say in it. Please sweetie, don't be sad about this."
"I...I guess I can deal with this," Adam said with a defeated sigh. "As you said, we can still talk. And then after we can spend a lot of time together.........which means a lot more time for love."
A warm smile spread across Kris's face. "Exactly. Don't forget, we still also have the rest of this week."
"That's three days," Adam said with a bit of his happy spark in his voice. "That's a song in music and three lunches to make out in."
Kris giggled at Adam's enthusiasm. "Yes it is. Well, are we going to waste this lunch just talking or are we going to go kiss?"
"Who said anything about going anywhere?" Adam seductively said with a smirk, kissing Kris right then and there, wrapping his strong arms around Kris's waist and bringing him closer to him in one swift motion, impressing Kris.
"I love you, Adam," Kris managed to say during a gasp for air.
"I love you too, Kris," Adam replied in his sexy tone of voice.
Oh how Kris would miss this.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Music has many legends that have shaped it since the prehistoric era. From the simple banging of rocks on other rocks to the melodic sounds coming from the amazing voices of our founding music fathers, such as Johnny Cash and Frank Sinatra. So, our next music project is going to be doing research on a music icon, learn a song about them, and then perform it, in costume, in front of, thanks to the principle allowing it, the whole school, freshmen to seniors."
A hush fell over the group. Just their music class, the sophomore group, was going to have to perform in fron of the entire school.
God knows how dumb of an idea that is.
"So, to make things more fun, you all will have to pick from the orange hat or white hat- depending on sex- on my desk a random person. The person you choose will be the person that you will be personifying on Friday. Oh, and boys, if you get a hard rock-n-roll character that wears make-up, you will have to wear some if you don't want to fail this assignment."
Brad smirked. "I can assure you, sir, that I will have no problem with that requirement, and if any guy needs help, I will, for free, help them with their make-up."
"Ummmm...that's very nice of you to offer, Bradly," the teacher said with a slightly weirded-out tone to his voice. "Anyway, all of you, please come back to my desk and get in line. Once you're ready, we'll choose."
All the men walked up behind the orange hat, opposite the girls, and anxiously awaited their turn. Kris was behind Adam, smirking as he snuck looks at his butt subtly. Adam smirked also, knowing that he just had to be doing exactly that.
"What do you think you'll get?" the small man behind him whispered in his ear.
"I'm hoping for Plant or Bowie," Adam replied in a hopeful tone. "I'd love to dress up like them and sing their songs. What about you, sweetie?"
"I'd love Paul McCarthy or Sinatra. I at least know a lot of songs from them."
Before he knew it, Adam was up next. The orange bag was pretty full of little yellow pieces of paper, so without looking, Adam just dove into the bag and pulled out the first paper he felt. Opening it up, Adam felt a bit of excitement and worry rush down his spine.
He was Elvis Presley.
The King of Rock n' Roll.
The guy who Robert Plant looked up to.
"Oh my freaking gosh."
"What?" Adam heard blindly come from Kris behind him.
"I got Elvis."
Kris chuckled. "You'll be amazing."
"Says you. Elvis's vocal range is in the very low and deep section, while mine is very high and in the sharp section. This is gonna be crazy."
"Not as crazy as mine," Kris said as he stepped out of line.
"Who could you possibly get that is any harder than mine?"
"Try Michael Jackson."
"No way."
"Yup."
"Damn."
---------------------------------------------------------------
"Hey, Kris," Adam said as he scrolled down a page on his laptop in his room, "c'mere and look at this."
Kris trotted over to the bed and plopped down right beside him, leaning his head a bit on Adam's.
"What must I look at, Mr. Presley?"
"Well, Michael," Adam said with a smirk, "here it says that Elvis's daughter Lisa Marie was born exactly 9 months to the day of his wedding."
"So?" Kris quizzed, yawning a bit.
"That means that the very day Elvis lost his virginity, he got a girl pregnant! He's a flippin stud, Kris!"
Kris bursted into a fit of laughter. "You are something else."
"But Kris," Adam said in his excitement, "this means he's a freakin sex symbol! I'm going to be able to portray a freakin sex symbol who practically created rock music!"
"See, I knew you'd love being Elvis."
Adam blushed and closed his laptop so that he could wrap his arm around Kris's back. "So, how is your MJ work going?"
"I found a bedazzled white glove at the store today thanks to an old run-down Halloween store I found," Kris mumbled in the sheets of the bed with a groan. "I also found an outfit that looks like his Billie Jean outfit. But I still have no song to sing."
"I know you'll find one, Kris," Adam encouraged. "You're a good singer."
"I hope. What have you found so far?"
"Well thanks to my research I've done so far," Adam proudly said, "I know exactly what outfit I want to wear. I'm going to wear the black leather suit he wore, and I even checked for it in town. It's at Skin Graft! Can you believe it?"
Kris rolled his eyes with a smile. "Actually, I can. Have you found a song, though?"
Adam's smile fell. "Nope. But that's because I haven't really searched for it. I'm sure that if I look for one, I'll be able to find one for me."
"Of course you would," Kris said sadly. "You're Adam Lambert, that's why."
"No," Adam said with a smirk to lighten the mood, "I'm Elvis Presley."
"Jerk."
"Please baby, don't be cruel!"
"Shut up," Kris said with a smile.
"Love me tender, will ya'?"
"Adam....."
"I can't help falling in love with you...."
"Okay," Kris said with a giggle, "shut up and kiss me."
"Sure Michael, but I didn't know you were gay!"
"Elvis wasn't either, mister."
"Oh yeah......well, screw that and kiss me."
"Okay Elvis."
"This is going to be a looooooooong three days."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I swear, if I hadn't have picked David Bowie, I would've sang my Cheeks song," Brad said to the group as they ate their lunch quietly.
"I just still can't believe I'm Toby Kieth," Ben grumbled as he took an angry bite of his pizza. "I barely know the guy's music."
"And you think I know Joan Jett's music?" Casey said with an equal grumble. "I'm a current music girl, not an 80's girl. I don't even have black hair!"
"I wasn't ever black before, but you don't see me crying," Kris said right before taking a bite of his own slice of pizza. "Adam has basically the only good pick out of us all."
Adam shook his head. "Nah, I don't. I don't sound a thing like him."
"And I sound like Toby Kieth?" Ben said annoyed. Adam shook his head. "I thought so. Face it, you look like him, you have the hair, you have his style of clothing down, and you can so sing good. You're better off than all of us."
"I guess you're right," Adam said both to himself and the others.
"Of course I am," Ben said with a cocky grin that made everyone laugh carelessly.
Maybe Elvis was a person meant for him to do.
Maybe the universe was trying to tell him something.

Leila adored seeing her son Adam dress up and have fun doing it. She knew he enjoyed it and that it only brought out more of his true colors. But, when she saw Adam walk out of his room wearing a black leather suit and being followed by a very 'happy' Kris at his heels, Leila didn't know what to think.
"Um....Adam?"
Adam giggled. "Mom, don't I just look awesome? This is so form fitting and so Elvis sexy. I'm going to be amazing!"
"Don't you think it's a little....too form fitting?"
Kris rolled his eyes and rapidly shook his head at Leila with a stupid love-sick grin. "No, no, no. It's just FINE."
Leila gave Kris a look and walked up to her son to feel just how tight the outfit really was. Slipping her index finger between the tight leather fabric and her son's shoulder, Leila quickly felt that the fabric wasn't as tight as it looked, but that it still was a little revealing for a 16 year old.
"Adam, you're 16 years old. Do you really want to wear something like this in front of the whole school?"
The universe wants you to be a sexy Elvis, so be one. He went against the crowd, so so can you.
"Yes, Mom. Elvis didn't care what other people thought of him. I'm not going to, either."
"So if they all thought you were a slut, then you'd be okay with it?"
Adam rolled his eyes. "Mom, I'll be fine. Hey Kris, want to go and get your outfit on?"
"Do I have to?"
"I'll help you-"
"Okay!" Kris immediately chirped, running straight to Adam's bedroom, not even waiting for Adam to follow. Before he could, Leila grabbed Adam by the arm and stopped him.
"Adam," she said in a warning voice, "you better not force Kris into anything. Just because you're doing Elvis and have this whole new look on life for some reason does NOT mean that you can try anything on Kris. Unless he says he's ready, I want you to back off. Understand?"
Adam looked at his mom a bit taken back. "Mom....of course I wouldn't.....you know how much I care for him...regardless of this stuff....I would never....."
"Good," Leila cut in, "because I'll put you through hell if you do. Now go and be with him. He's waiting."
"Um...okay Mom."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adam's outfit was sexy as hell according to Kris, and even though he still was a bit sore and nervous, he wanted to do something about it. The way the leather fit Adam just perfect made Kris just want to pounce on Adam and never let him go. It was like Adam was a brand new present on Christmas Eve and Kris just NEEDED to open it. So, the minute Adam walked in in that leather outfit with those blue eyes glowing, Kris ran up to Adam and planted his lips smack dab on his. Adam was surprised as heck, but went with the kiss, thinking it was just a normal kiss that Kris wanted to surprise him with. Kris pushed him back towards the wall then, shutting the door with a slam, turning on his seductiveness to the max. That's when Adam realized exactly what Kris was doing, and stopped him.
"Kris," he forced out through Kris's longing kisses, "no."
Looking up at Adam's stern face, Kris stopped and backed a bit away from Adam, looking at him with those curious eyes.
"Adam.....I want to."
Adam sighed. "Do you seriously want to, or are you just going by lust? If I wasn't in this outfit, and we were just in here for fun, would you seriously consider doing this?"
Kris felt his eyes begin to water, and his heart ached for his love's touch.
"Adam.....make love to me. Now."
"If you need me to....just say-"
"I will," Kris assured, "now come here."
Kris and Adam met each other with careful touches and loving caresses, taking each moment with great care. They soon made their way to the big bed that filled Adam's room, and Kris fell on top of Adam with a strong desire to free the present under him from his wrapping. Adam watched Kris as he yanked off Adam's leather top and shimmied off his leather pants with desire-filled eyes, feeling his body reacting with approval. Kris placed gentle kisses everywhere before letting Adam take his own clothing, responding with a bit of hesitation as Adam placed kisses to his thighs. Suddenly, making Adam stop in place, Kris sucked in a sharp breath of air and groaned. Adam looked at Kris nervously.
"You doing okay?"
"Yeah," Kris said shakily, "I just remembered something from then........I...I need your lips."
"Of course," Adam said before placing his lips on Kris's with care and passion.
He wasn't going to let Kris remember that night.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kris awoke that Friday morning to the sound of the sink in the bathroom running and Adam's humming voice echoing through the wooden door between them. Kris then heard the water from the sink stop and the hair dryer begin. Kris got up, ignoring the sore pain he felt, and went into the bathroom, smirking at Adam's beautiful figure grinning back at him in the mirror. He had very light eyeliner around the very edge of his eyes and he was dressed in the leather outfit like before. Adam smiled and kissed Kris with a giggle.
"Mornin' sleepy head. How ya' feel?"
"Sore but blissed out," Kris mumbled with a grin. "I'm going to go get dressed now. I'll meet ya' at the bus, okay?"
Adam nodded and shut the hair dryer off contently.
Things were getting back to normal.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Ladies and gentleman, give a big round of applause for the King of Pop, Michael Jackson!"
Kris walked out on the stage with a big smirk on his face, seeing everyone looking at him with surprised eyes. Thanks to the help of Brad and Adam, Kris looked just like Michael Jackson, minus the weird looking surgery face. It was Kris's face on a Michael Jackson doll, apparently.
The lights went out except for a spotlight on Kris, and with a smirk, he began singing 'Man In The Mirror', getting the whole crowd to get up on their feet and sing along with him. He was great, wowing the crowd immensely. Finally, after a few minutes, Kris's most nervous moment was over, and he passed in flying colors.
Now, it was Adam's turn. He passed Kris on his way to the stage, giving him a quick kiss before heading off to his spot on the darkened stage. Adam smirked as the lights grew even dimmer, the crowd screaming in anticipation of what was next.
"And now, the moment we've all been waiting for. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage, the King of Rock n' Roll, ELVIS PRESLEY!"
The crowd's screams blared on stage as a small drum beat came into hearing. Then, he started, a spot light showing him with a red guitar and his leather outfit, complete with a pompadour.
"If you're looking for trouble....you came to the right place. If you're looking for trouble......just look ight in my face. I was born standin' up......and talking back. My daddy was a green eyed mountain jack because I'm eeeeeeeeevil! My middle name is misery! Whoa, whoa, whoa whoaaaa. Well I'm evil.......YA! So don't you mess around with me."
Then, the song changed, and just like in the 68 comeback special, a whole thing of blocks of people with guitars were behind him, their shadows showing their moments and such. Adam began playing, showing his real sexiness in his looks to the crowd. Girls screamed, and guys became jealous. The song then became 'Guitar Man', and everyone cheered with various cat calls.
"Well I quit my job down at the car wash, I left my momma' a good-bye note. By sundown I left Kingston with my guitar under my coat. I hitchhiked all the way down to Memphis with my guitar, got a room at the YMCA. For the next three weeks I went hunting them nightclubs just looking for a place to play. Well I thought my pickin' would set 'em on fire, but nobody wanted to hire a guitar man."
He then played the guitar some more, driving the girls crazy and the guys even more into jealousy. They screamed and shouted, and Adam was just loving it.
"Well I nearly starved to death down in Memphis, I ran out of money and luck. So I bought me a ride down to Macon Georgia on an overloaded poultry truck. I thumbed on down to Panama City, started picking out some of those bars hoping I could make myself a dollar making music on my guitar. I got the same ol' story at them all night piers, 'you know their ain't no room around here for a guitar man!'"
Then, after a shirt instrumental guitar part, Adam continued.
"So I slept in the hobo jungle. I ran a thousand miles of track 'till I found myself in Mobile, Alabama at a placed called Big Jacks. I led a four piece, the band was jammin, so took my guitar and I sat in. I showed him what the band would sound like with a swingin' little guitar man, show em' son!!!!!!!!"
Then, for the first time, Adam showed his greatness on the guitar with a giant smile. He felt confident as hell on stage.
"If you ever take a trip down to the ocean and find yourself down around Mobile, make it on out to a club called Jacks if you've got a little time to kill! Just follow that crowd of people and you'll wind up out on his dance floor, digging the best little 5 piece group up and down the Gulf of Mexico! And guess who's leading that five piece band? Well wouldn't you know, it's that swinging little guitar man!"
And then as the guitar and music went out, a big 'ELVIS' in bright red lights came up behind him, just like in the special, and Adam jammed out through the ending, breaking a string or two at the end. The crowd screamed their approval and Adam took one quick bow and then ran off stage, hearing the ending credits as he ran into Kris's loving arms, feeling his friends encircle him with congrats and such.
He did it.
He'd done his homage to the King.
He'd blown the whole crowd away.
He also had gotten his old baby back.
This is how things are supposed to be. I just know it.
