Blues had no memory of from when he hit the window to waking back up in the Glamily headquarters, Sweet Dream standing over him on the med table while machines beeped all around.

"Sleep, darling," she laid a gentle hand on his forehead. "After you heal, the work begins."

Raja would later tell him it was a miracle they got to him before the injuries were too extensive, or the police cars that Hollywood had called picked him up. "I sent Dark Horse out when the communication got crazy- it's a good thing she's lightning-quick."

Or you would have died.

The files were lost for the time being and Hollywood was gone, but Blues was alive and the girls had been rescued, which the Glamily could count as their victories.

Not that that was stopping Blues from wanting major payback.

None of the other members said anything outright, at least not right away. Hollywood had been their binding force, and he and Blues had worked together on enough missions to be as close as two people could be. For this sudden turn-around to happen had been shocking enough to everyone, but Blues seemed hit on a deeper, more emotional level.

Blast Beats was the first person to finally say something. It was at the end of a sparring session to build Blues' skills back up, and the blond had him tapped out and pinned to the floor.

"You can't let your anger keep blinding you," he said as he rubbed his stiff neck. "Being too emotional leaves you prone to making more mistakes."

Blues downed half a bottle of water in three gulps, poured some over his sweaty face, and shook his head about. "Don't see how many more mistakes any of us can make. Why shouldn't we be angry?"

Dark Horse was aptly named, swift and silent in the night. When she pulled up in her motorbike outside Blues' room, he was already waiting with a helmet tucked under his arm and sheathed rapier at his side. There was a hardness in his eyes she'd never seen before, the look of someone who'd walked through fire and been reborn.

"This still feels strange," he admitted as he sat behind her. "I never expected I'd have to fight someone I thought I knew well."

"We didn't choose this life to face the expected," she said simply and revved the engine.
