Adam seemed like the perfect flat mate. He’s polite and neat, his references were perfect, he doesn’t want to throw wild parties every night, he keeps to himself mostly. He’s perfect and Tommy took one look at him and wanted him the moment he saw him. Wanted him as more than just a roommate. Tommy keeps things friendly with Adam, helps him move his things and chats to him without making it all too obvious.
Adam is already a hundred times easier to live with than his old roommate. Adam is bright and funny and outgoing and he doesn’t treat Tommy any differently when Tommy doesn’t go out night after night like the most guys their age do. Adam just takes him as he is, doesn’t hassle him about coming out with him and his friends, doesn’t ask him about his friends or comment about Tommy’s lack of visitors or ask if he has a girlfriend or pry at all. Tommy likes that.
Tommy likes Adam, he’s the kind of guy that Tommy always both admired and felt envious of. He’s tall and good looking, commanding. He’s outgoing, people just seem to gravitate to him. Tommy’s heard him sing, he’s fucking talented too. He’s so perfect Tommy would hate him if he weren’t such a nice guy, if he didn’t just make Tommy like him so effortlessly.
Most of all Tommy likes Adam’s boyfriend, this cute little guy, shorter even than Tommy himself, friendly and outgoing and ridiculously flirtatious even in Adam’s presence. Tommy thinks he’s funny, thinks they make a cute couple. Tommy likes how Adam is around him, the side of Adam he gets to glimpse. Sometimes Tommy watches a movie with them and tries to keep his glances subtle, make it not so obvious that he’s watching them when they turn and kiss during some boring scene.
On the nights when Adam’s boyfriend stays over, Tommy closes his bedroom door and locks it, turns the lights off and gets into bed, sits in silence listening to the sound of the TV, the hushed voices as they sit and talk, the sound of them clearing dishes or whatever else they’re up to. Tommy sits naked under the covers, duvet pulled up to right under his chin, staring out into the dim light until his eyes are fully adjusted. He listens to the muted voices, the giggles as they move around, the sounds of kissing and murmurs of pleasure.
Tommy sits in the dark, letting his breathing even out, leans back against pillows and relaxes his body, listens to the sounds as the two men outside move around, footsteps as they move closer. The door to the next room opens and the voices grow a fraction louder, the sound of a giggle, unsteady footsteps. The thump of a body against the wall as one pushes the other against it. Tommy moves his head closer to the wall and closes his eyes, focusing entirely on listening. He struggles to keep his breath even and quiet so he can hear the sound of clothes rustling, the metallic thump of a belt buckle hitting wooden floorboards, the sound of knees hitting the floor and the grunt of discomfort.

If Tommy presses his ear against the wall, he can hear the moan as one of them takes the other in his mouth, he’s not sure if he can actually hear the wet sounds of a mouth or if he’s just imagining it. Tommy’s hard by now, struggling to keep his hand off his dick, to prolong this. He listens as Adam groans, his tone distinctive, the wet noise followed by the shifting from kneeling to standing. Tommy presses his ear so hard against the wall he can feel the hot thumping pulse in his ear, imagines it’s red from the pressure, strains to listen as hard as he can. The bed creaks as two bodies collapse onto it, the sound continuing as they shift around, the moan as one of them does something to the other. Tommy tries to picture them in his head, imagines Adam’s mouth, his tongue, how they might feel against his most intimate parts. Tommy runs his hands along his body, skimming along skin in the gap under the duvet, lifting the warmth away from him. He runs fingertips over nipples, pinches at them while listening to the noises the men make in the next room, pictures Adam’s hands. Tommy listens to them moving around, the sound of a drawer opening and closing. The murmur of voices, the creak of the bed, the muffled groan from a mouth pressed against a pillow. Tommy’s hands move lower, slowly starting to touch himself, light skims of fingertips at first. He hears the bed creaking again, the sound of movement and more of those hushed voices. The groan through the wall and Tommy has to pull back his own hand for a moment before he comes from imagining Adam’s cock, the stretch of penetration.
Tommy holds his breath as he reaches for the lube beside the bed, tries to be as quiet as possible as he squirts a little into his palm. He listens to the hushed voices, the soft moans and the slow creak of the bed as the men find a rhythm. Tommy finds his own rhythm, touching his balls with one hand as he starts to stroke himself, slick movements up and down. Adam’s boyfriend is noisy, moaning, calling Adam’s name loud enough that Tommy can hear it so clearly. Tommy bites his lip so he doesn’t make a sound, lets his slick fingers work their way back behind his balls, teases his hole and imagines the men next door, pictures them all slender limbs and bare skin.
The men in the next room speed up, the creaking of the bed, the moans, the grunts, all growing closer together. The sounds are faster and louder and Tommy finds himself stroking himself in time to their sounds, breaches himself with a finger and presses inside, searching for the extra stimulation to take him over the edge. Adam cries out in the next room, joined by a whine and another call of Adam’s name. The creaking and movement grows erratic and Tommy finds himself breathing heavily, working himself faster, harder, picturing the men next door, trying to take himself over the edge.
Tommy’s toes curl up, he manages to hold back a gasp as he comes, messy and sticky under the covers. He collapses back against the bed, heart hammering in his chest. He listens to the sound of movement next door, the soft voices, the sound of them cleaning up and the creak of the bed as they get comfortable together. Tommy reaches for a tissue and cleans his hand, wipes most of the mess off his stomach. He curls on his side and rests fingertips against the wall, a smile on his face, picturing the two men next door curled together. Tommy drifts asleep imagining the feeling of Adam’s arms around him.
