10,000 Maniacs covered Patti Smith's "Because the Night." I was not aware of this. Nor do I think it was a good idea, even though I like the rest of MTV Unplugged of theirs, because the 10,000 Maniacs version sounds too much like Patti Smith's, it's just different instrumentals and it isn't as good. But it's not different enough.
