Jack said when he left Lureen he rode the train as far as his money would take him then thumbed it for a stretch. Caught a ride with a live wire name a Randee, co-ed from A & M, off to see the world before startin her last year as an Aggie. Said Randee made him welcome in every way known to her from the time she rolled down the window and told him to jump in. Ennis wanted to know what kind a name for a gal was Randee and Jack looked away as he stubbed out his smoke, sayin it was most likely short for somethin, and who cared anyway, he was here now and damned if it wasn’t as good as he remembered. Ennis wanted to know what Jack fuckin Twist considered good and there followed a tussle that had them goin at it again, goin off with Jack’s hand around both their peckers, Ennis tasting blood when Jack’s teeth sank into his tongue, spouting a load that cooled as soon as it left his body, Jack right with him, gasping a muffled profanity. The peace that Ennis had missed more than the sex enfolded him with Jack’s embrace and he knew without hope of reprieve that he was one of those guys. His father, his brother, Joe Aguirre, that harlot in the bar, hell, even strangers on the street, they all knew, and now he did too.
To be continued.
