My son and I went out to the Order of the Arrow Ordeal on Friday and Saturday. (OA is the Boy Scout honor society) 42 new people were inducted into the lodge. My son was in charge of ceremonies for the last time before leaving for college, and also managed the near impossible on a Boy Scout trip - he got to spend time with his girlfriend. The

Sometimes I just don't know what to think anymore

I react the same way as Mari does whenever one of my contempories gets married or has a kid, it's kind of a gut reaction. Granted that might be because I joke that I'm not mature enough to have a kid/get married. It’s always odd when someone your age (or haven forbid, younger) ends up joining the realm of “adult responsibilities”. Normally, at least in my limited experience, this is caused by not behaving in a “responsible adult manner

I think I would have reacted in the same way as your kids but I think rather than looking at it from a distance they regard these people as their peers, and think of themselves, basically they are saying I'm too young to do that. Which I guess as their dad is a nice thing to hear!
