A D&D brownie weekend.

On Saturday Eric, Joe and I played some old skool Dungeons and Dragons.  It was all about killing things and getting stuff.  We're all level 4 and have roughly 100 gold pieces each.  It was silly to play by the book but very enjoyable because of that.

After the D&D session Eric and I went to get dice, well Eric did, I'm good on dice.  At the nerd store (Gnome Games) I found the 4th Edition D&D Preview book.  I read reviews online for it and they majority of people didn't like it.  For $20 I didn't blame them, but I was on a D&D high so I got it.  Good move on my part!  It answered a lot of my questions and made me even more excited for the release!

Races get abilities as they level, not just at character creation.  The Classes have been revamped.   Like melee driven characters get many “special attacks" they can use every round.  The arcane get to cast more spells, more often.  Races on release are: Humans, Dragonborn, Dwarfs, Eladrins(High-Elves), Elves, Halflings, and Tieflings.  The 8 main classes on release are: Clerics, Fighters, Rogues, Warlocks, Wizards, Paladins, and Rangers.  More of both will be added in additional books.  All in all this is the right direction for Dungeons & Dragons.

On Sunday Natalie and I had a lazy day.  Watched 7-8 hours of Stargate and ate warm brownies with vanilla ice cream.  Sooooooo good!  Oh, I also did my taxes!
