Movies watched this week: Mars Attacks
Today the tour bus companies were giving free tours to Fairbanksans to practice for the summer. Mom and I went and Jackie and Brenda and her kids came too. It was neat..it rather made me feel like I was on vacation though haha. Then mom and I went to watch like 3 videos at the visitor center haha (the Yukon-Charley River preserve, the Gates of the Arctic, Alaskan wildlife). We had lunch, walked by the (OMG MOSTLY UNFROZEN) river and got some fudge at The Fudge Pot. Yay!
The Golden Heart Plaza. The church is the Immaculate Conception Church and it's the oldest church in Fairbanks. They got it across the river on logs when it froze over
Their fence is made out of wooden skis!
The river from the Wendell Street Bridge. Wendell wanted a street named after him but only if it was curved haha
The other bridge is the Steese Highway
Birch Hill..I had ski lessons there
The Pipeline
The person in green is actually Jackie. She didn't seem too thrilled :P
Gold Dredge no. 8..in Goldstream!
Looking down at Fairbanks in the valley from the Steese Highway (I think?)
Ester Dome
The University of Alaska Fairbanks
Looking out across the valley (they actually call it the Tanana Valley) from the university. On a clear day you can see the Alaska Range. The long white strip is the airport
Creamer's Field

The river from the Peger Street Bridge
Golden Towers. I think I'm gonna move into these apartments! They're for disabled people and it's right by the river!! I hope to get the side on the top floor facing the river :D
Swans!
Standing on the bridge and watching the river flow by is really soothing for some reason..(the river seemed pretty low too)
Haha remember this pic when it was frozen??
Pic of the day:
Midnight sun: If it's 2 AM and bright as noon, it's summer in Alaska. The farther north you go, the longer the day gets. Barrow, the northernmost community, has nearly two months of solid daylight (and darkness in the winter..)
