Earlier I was at work up front when I heard a huge crash (though I could tell it was some distance away). Donna was like "wow, that sounded like a building falling down!" I finished what I was doing and a few minutes later walked to the back and saw the door was open with lots of people standing outside. I walked out and was shocked to see a large Lowe's truck SMASHED into the side of a building!! There was also a white car with the front end of it just shorn off! Denise said she heard a crash and looked outside, and then saw the truck hit the building! One of the traffic lights was broken as well. I can't imagine how loud it must have been that close to the accident! The story is the white car was trying to run a red light and turned in front of the truck, and the truck swerved to avoid it and ran into the (luckily vacant) building. That must have been TERRIFYING. It took awhile to get the driver of the truck out, because I think he was pinned and trapped. Yikes!! I hope everyone wasn't hurt too badly! Here is a pic:

Wow

I recently bought a book about Wilson's wife Oriana, for one because I heard it mentioned Cherry a lot..I eagerly flipped through the picture pages, hoping there might be one of Cherry I hadn't seen before, and THERE WAS!! I hadn't found a "new" picture of him in a long time, so I was super happy haha. Here it is!

Squee!! He's so dashing LOL. The caption said this pic was from 1914, after he got back from Antarctica

I just bought a new car! It’s a Highlander van that’s grey. It has a built in CD player and a thing where you type in the adress or something in a computer and it tells you if you’ve gone to far or if you’re almost there. It’s really cool! Of course, I’ll be living in Scotland, with my Highlander van. I’ll be a Highlander if I’m living in the Highlands! If I really did have this car in the Highlands, I would be happy and I would love watching the beautiful scenery go by! I keep remembering this thing my dad said in Hawaii when we were in Waimea. When these cars were coming our direction and they were all wet and dad said “Hmm…they’re wet, they must be coming from the hills!” Now, when I go back to Waimea (if I ever do) then I wanna go straight up into the hills

My fave movie? Do ya even have to ask that? LOTR, of course! I love the battles and Sam’s loyalty to Frodo and just Tolkien’s story is amazing. I like the Elvish that they speak - I even know some words! The battle at Mordor’s Black Gate and Pelennor Fields was awesome! I loved at the black gates when Aragorn is standing in front of his army (by the way, this was in ROTK) and Sauron’s eye is saying “Aragorn…Elessar” then Aragorn turns around to his army and says “for Frodo” and charges into battle. Then everyone follows him. [Still such a great scene!!] In FOTR, I loved Boromir’s last stand trying to protect the hobbits. How honorable that is! In the Two Towers, I loved the battle of Helm’s Deep. In the Two Towers Extended Edition, there was a flashback to when Faramir and Boromir were in Osgiliath, in Gondor, and their celebrating. Boromir is giving his speech and ends with “the city of Osgiliath has been reclaimed for Gondor!” And everyone’s screaming “for Gondor!” and the Gondor theme is playing. The Gondor theme was everywhere in ROTK, and it begs to be listened to with the volume up. I love the Gondor theme. [One of the best movie themes!] I would love to say more, but I have to put my journal up

I wouldn’t want to be a rockstar, but I would like to meet Blind Guardian or HammerFall. [I met HammerFall in 2010! Yay!] They are my 2 fave bands, thanks to Honor. They sing about battle songs, and stuff like that. I hate songs that sing about love and girlfriends and stuff. They were doing a countdown last night of the most popular songs of the week on the radio, and the only good song they played was Numb by Linkin Park. The songs I like they hardly ever play, and the songs that I hate and are horrible they overplay way to much! I guess these people have a bad taste in music. But Honor and I, we know good music!

If my kid brought home their report card, I would congradulate them i[f] their grades are good, and if there are bad grades, I would help them with that subject. It would be scary if my kid had the exact same grades as me! Oops, I think I messed up the first part. Oh, well. If they brought the same grades as me, they might have been as smart as me

I won 1 hour of shopping at Grapevine Mills. I would get every single book I wanted at Books a Million and all the CDs I am looking for. This is all for free, too! Then I would just go into random stores and get whatever seems interesting or I like. That would rock! OMG, did you know today is Orlando Bloom’s birthday! He’s 27. I wonder what he’s doing

When someone touches me all the time, like on my arms and head, that bugs me. And when someone stares at me or ignores me when I'm talking. I guess I could handle it by just dealing with it

Wo-hoo! Friday! And we have a 3 day weekend! I have a song stuck in my head. “Time Stands Still (At the Iron Hill)” by Blind Guardian. I started singing it this morning. “A star in the night and the bearer of hope he rides into his glorious battle alone. Farewell to the valiant war lord. The fate of us all lies deep in the dark when time stands still at the Iron Hill.” My fave part! My other fave part is “the Elvenking’s broken, he stumbles and falls, most valiant, his spirit survives. Praise our king!”

SAVE PLANET EARTH!!
SAVE THE TREES!!

We are loosing whole rainforests even as I write this! Rainforests might have plants that cure cancer or other things. And there are endangered plants that might get wiped out totally if we keep destroying the rainforest! Why tear it all down? Leave something! And lots of animals live there, too. See, the rainforest is valuable

SAVE THE RAINFOREST!
SAVE PLANET EARTH!

“A sence of humor bridges the distance between sadness and joy.” Agree? Uh, no. You could have really sad humor and be sad. Why is it that when all these famous people have quotes, they always seem to be stupid or just wrong? Or maybe that’s just what I think. [Maybe I didn’t understand the quote or something, but yeah, that quote is absolutely true! Better to just laugh about it lol.] A good quote is “it’s not who wins the fight, it’s about who’s left.” Charge to battle!

“Our Class”

In the 1st scene the students go through their daily routine. But something’s gonna happen. In the second scene, the students are talking, then Mrs. Blackmon [the principal] comes in. There is dead silence. In the 3rd scene, Mrs. Blackmon says she will be observing the class. The students have scared looks on their faces. In the 4th scene, Mrs. Blackmon said the class was good and she left. Everyone cheered and was happy the rest of the day. That would be nice if that actually did happen. Oh, wow! Mrs. Blackmon just walked in! That was scary [everyone was *terrified* of Mrs. Blackmon, she was strict and intimidating, though she was nice to me. I was so shocked when she came in after I wrote that, I must have summoned her or something :P]

Sept. 1. When did you last stay in a hotel, and where? Ummm..not sure, it's been awhile! We've been staying at bed and breakfasts lately lol

Today's trivia: Mammoth Cave in Kentucky is the world's longest known cave system, with more than 400 miles explored and the national park estimates a potential for another 600 miles in its system
