I can't believe how crazy the weather in Texas has been! I heard Flower Mound even got into the NEGATIVES! They must have been totally freaking out..the coldest it got when I lived there was in the teens, which was definitely a big deal (the "inches of snow" title still made me laugh though :P). The weather in Texas has been jaw dropping for me. I'm usually one that stays on top of weather in the US and it's been shocking at what they have had in Texas. One day early last week, one of my LJ friends that is from there said it was going to be in the minus double digits. That's colder than what it is where I live in Sweden! In fact, a lot of places in the US like Oregon have seen negative double digit weather (case in point...my friend in Oregon said last week that she had -39 degrees F).

This is probably the first time in eight years that we have gotten temperatures below zero where I live in Sweden (they normally get the double digits below zero in Northern Sweden, which is not surprising given that places like the town of Kiruna are literally in the Artic Circle). However the last time we got any temperatures below zero in Southern Sweden was back in the winter of 2012-2013 (I remember that as I was pregnant with my son at the time). Still though...the last time Texas faced any cold weather like they are facing now was back in the 30s. Many people born after that point have never seen Texas that cold before.
