The uterus has left the building

I tried writing this yesterday, but I was too tired. :P But my hysterectomy is done! To show how big of morning people we are, mom forgot to put on her boots and wore slippers to the hospital, and I tried pushing the button to the elevator, and mom had to help and pushed the real one above it LOL. When we got to the hospital, Danelle checked us in, someone we've gone geocaching with! What a small town. :P When I got up there, the nurse greeted me and took me to the prep room..I had to take a pregnancy test even though I'm a virgin..they wanted to make sure there wasn't any "immaculate conception" going on haha. The nurse had trouble getting my IV in and kept digging around looking for a vein. At one point she looked at me like "are you kidding me??" when I didn't flinch or anything..she was like "I didn't expect you to be so tough!" I love surprising people with that. :P The anesthesiologist came in and did a TAP block, which inserts anesthetic straight into your abdomen. She was amazed at how well I was doing too! Jennifer came in and told mom the surgery would probably be a couple hours, but not to be alarmed if it went longer. After everything was ready, they wheeled me to the operating room. I had taken my glasses off already, and couldn't see the equipment too well..too bad, I was curious to see what it looked like lol. That was perhaps the COOLEST operating room ever..they were playing Aerosmith and joking around and laughing..it was so much fun!! They also gave me a warm blanket..best doctors EVER haha. They put an oxygen mask on me, they told me I'd feel burning in my IV, and then I was out

The next thing I remember was waking up and instinctively feeling for my glasses, which I was already wearing! (So that's what it's like to wake up and immediately be able to see. :P) Mom was there, and the nurse kept asking questions like how much pain I was in, but I kept falling asleep, so I'm not sure if my groggy answers were very helpful haha, but the nurse gave me more medicine since I apparently said I was in pain lol. She also said to breathe deeply..I really just wanted to sleep, but managed to do what she asked. I started wheezing too, and they gave me a breathing treatment, which helped. Then I was wheeled to a recovery room, where I started waking up more (I still nodded off though) and drank some water. Mom said Jennifer called mom when she was done..she said I did well, and the surgery lasted three hours or so because my fibroid was pretty big and my private area is small haha (it's sore too lol). I had to go to the bathroom, and was rather alarmed when I saw how much blood there was, but the nurse said that was normal and should decrease as the day passed, which it did. My throat eventually became sore from the intubation tube they had used, which was normal too. I was discharged the same day! Jennifer couldn't stay because she might have had other surgeries too, so I imagine she'll call me next week to talk about what she found, and hopefully she took pictures (yeah, I've watched too many medical shows LOL)

After we got home, mom made milkshakes! I was hungry, so it was delicious. :P Then I took a little nap and relaxed the rest of the day. Ryan and Jo came up and presented me with a plate with a picture of Amundsen and various ships and stuff he used..cool!! I didn't know such a thing existed! They got it at an antique shop, an Ryan said there was a Northwest Passage game there too! I've never been to that one, but have been curious about it..I definitely need to go now! I went to bed pretty early, I was tired lol. I'm bruised and sore today..I thought I would be pretty incapacitated for awhile, but I can sit, walk around, etc..I love modern medicine! They gave me pain pills just in case, but hopefully won't need many of them. Maybe I'll go back to work sooner than I thought! I'll still have to take it easy though

Sorry if this entry doesn't make sense, my brain is still woozy :P

I'm glad they finally banned Orange Guy from Twitter, that guy is absolutely nuts and dangerous D:
