I read this in Polar Wives last night, and I completely melted lol: "On summer nights [George Bernard] Shaw, Kathleen [Scott] and Apsley Cherry-Garrard slept out on the lawn under the stars. Cherry-Garrard, she noted, sang in his sleep"
Awwww! That just sounds like an amazing experience to me. I love that Cherry would sing in his sleep! I just love him more and more when I learn new little things like that about him. <3 I so wish I could have met him!
Yesterday a guy who owns a restaurant/lodge in town came in to work and bought over EIGHT HUNDRED dollars worth of Alaska books for a bookcase he's going to put into his lodge. We were so excited, that's definitely the biggest one person sale we've ever had! (We think he's going to come back too!) The total yesterday was over $1300!! Definitely an amazing sale day lol. This whole week has been pretty busy..people are probably buying Christmas presents lol
It's coooold today, around -15..we're spoiled after a warm November lol. Luckily it's supposed to get to 30 again on Monday :P
Today's trivia: During Prohibition in the United States, the U.S. government poisoned alcohol. When people continued to consume alcohol despite its banning, law officials got frustrated and decided to try a different kind of deterrent: death. They ordered the poisoning of industrial alcohols manufactured in the U.S., which were products regularly stolen bootleggers. By the end of Prohibition in 1933, the federal poisoning program is estimated to have killed at least 10,000 people (the "federal poisoning program"?!? WTF??)
