At work someone requested books by "Professor X," and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what popped up when I searched it on Google. One of the first titles I saw was "The Secret Lost Diary of Admiral Richard E. Byrd and The Phantom of the Poles"..I clicked on it and couldn't BELIEVE what I was reading:
EXPLORE A STRANGE LAND KEPT HIDDEN FROM THE PUBLIC - HERE FOR THE FIRST TIME IS THE SECRET DIARY OF ONE OF THE GREATEST ADVENTURERS WHO HAS EVER LIVED. - PLUS PROOF THAT THERE IS A VAST, UNCHARTED, CIVILIZATION EXISTS INSIDE THE PLANET -- IN the year 1947 Admiral Richard E. Byrd made a flight into the South Polar region of the world. Before he started on the venture, Byrd made a mysterious statement: "I'd like to see that land beyond the Pole. That area beyond the Pole in the center of the great unknown." In the cockpit of his plane was a powerful, two-way radio. When Byrd and his scientific companions took off from their base at the South Pole, they managed to fly 1700 miles beyond it. That's when the radio in Byrd's plane was put into use to report something utterly incredible. There was a strange great valley below them. For some unknown reason, the valley Byrd saw was not ice-covered as it should have been in the frigid Antarctic. It was green and luxuriant. There were mountains with thick forest of trees on them, there was lush grass and underbrush. Most amazing, a huge animal was observed moving through the underbrush. In a land of ice, snow and almost perpetual "deep-freeze" …here was a stupendous MYSTERY. Byrd had discovered a strange great valley just beyond the South Pole, where the weather temperature, believe it or not, was evidently something like 75 degrees.
Suddenly the press and radio were "hushed up." After the first brief messages leaked through to newspapers, no further confirmation of the big discovery was given. Was it merely a hoax? Some newsman's joke? I think not. I believe that Byrd came upon the location of a great doorway or entrance leading deep into the unknown interior of the Earth! The "Great Door" at the South Pole region. Having found that, it is believe he guessed no longer. He then KNEW beyond the shadow of a doubt that this secret "Door" must open into the Cavern world. He would go there and find out...see for himself the wonder and everlasting mystery of the unknown INNER Earth. Here is the long rumored “missing” diary of Admiral Byrd which tells exactly what Bryd and his men discovered. Why have we not been permitted this information? Why is it that some have been warned not to talk about what has been discovered? TWO BOOKS IN ONE! In addition to the text of Admiral Byrd’s diary is a rare, “long lost” manuscript by William Reed who puts forward his theory that we live on the outside of a hollow globe. Based upon the journals of various seafarers who have explored the regions around the poles, Reed puts forward the following questions: 1. Why is the earth flattened at the poles? 2. Why have the poles never been reached? 3. Why does the sun not appear for so long in winter near the supposed poles? 4. Assuming that the earth is hollow, the interior should be warmer. 5. We must now resort to the compass. Does it refuse to work when drawing near the supposed poles? 6. Meteors are constantly falling near the supposed poles. Why? 7. The next query is concerning the great quantities of dust constantly found in the Arctic Ocean. What causes this dust? 8. What produces the Aurora Borealis? 9. Icebergs are next in order. Where are they formed? And how?? 10. What causes tidal waves? 11. What causes colored snow in the Arctic region? 12. Why are the nights so long in the polar regions? 13. What causes the great ice-pressure in the Arctic Ocean during still tide and calm weather? 14. Why is the ice filled with rock, gravel, and sand? This is a book that will intrigue and fascinate. It is like nothing you have ever encountered before!
Wha..I..WTF??? There is absolutely NO WAY there's a 75 degree lush forest in the middle of Antarctica. And "Byrd came upon the location of a great doorway or entrance leading deep into the unknown interior of the Earth!" Ummmm, has this guy been reading too many sci-fi novels??? Does he even know anything about Byrd's explorations, or is he just guessing? I've heard of the Earth being flat, but HOLLOW?? How would you explain earthquakes and volcanoes and stuff then?? I'm pretty sure I can answer most of those questions too:
1. Why is the earth flattened at the poles? "The planet is spinning at roughly 1000 mph at the equator. Due to angular momentum the planet is elongated at the equator and in response the poles are slightly stretched and flattened." Yay, Google :P
2. Why have the poles never been reached? ARGH NO WTF! This one really makes my blood boil..Scott and everyone else didn't make their sacrifices just so people can ask questions like this. Where are people even getting that from? Ugh!
3. Why does the sun not appear for so long in winter near the supposed poles? Because of the tilt of the Earth!!! In winter they're tipped away from the sun, obviously causing less light. Seriously, that's very easily Googled
4. Assuming that the earth is hollow, the interior should be warmer. Umm..again: VOLCANOES. Where do you think that lava comes from?? This is making my brain hurt LOL
5. We must now resort to the compass. Does it refuse to work when drawing near the supposed poles? Yes, because the earth's magnetic field meet at the poles and make the compass just spin around (another thing easily Googled). There are plenty of polar exploration books that talk about that
6. Meteors are constantly falling near the supposed poles. Why? Because..gravity??? Meteors are falling everywhere, not just the ~supposed~ poles
7. The next query is concerning the great quantities of dust constantly found in the Arctic Ocean. What causes this dust? Glacial silt! I'm pretty sure EVERYWHERE is dusty though, like my windowsills after the windows are open all summer LOL
8. What produces the Aurora Borealis? The solar wind hitting the earth's magnetic field. Seriously, Google is your friend LOL
9. Icebergs are next in order. Where are they formed? And how?? Usually when part of an ice sheet or glacier calves off..because, ya know, that's what glaciers do, even advancing ones. And surprisingly, they're formed in cold places, like Antarctica! And all along I thought they were formed in Hawaii :P
10. What causes tidal waves? That's random..well, straight from Google: A tidal wave is a regularly reoccurring shallow water wave caused by effects of the gravitational interactions between the Sun, Moon, and Earth on the ocean. Yup :P
11. What causes colored snow in the Arctic region? I think it's from an algae or microbe or something. I've seen red colored snow on a mountain before, it's interesting lol
12. Why are the nights so long in the polar regions? ALIENS!!! LOL didn't you pretty much ask this already? Refer back to question 3 :P
13. What causes the great ice-pressure in the Arctic Ocean during still tide and calm weather? Hmm..maybe because there's so much ice squished together and it has nowhere else to go?
14. Why is the ice filled with rock, gravel, and sand? Because glaciers carry along everything in their path, causing the ice to be dirty. That's where moraines come from too!
Ugh, I can't even with this book..I don't know what drugs he was on, but he might need to stop LOL. Here are a couple more fun titles: "Matrix Of The Mind: UFO Abductions - MK Ultra - And Electronic Harassment Technology Designed To Warp Your Brain" (so that's why I'm tired :P) and "Underground Alien Bases: Flying Saucers Come From Inside The Earth!" (HAHA wtf!!) I love how cheesy the covers are haha. All this conspiracy stuff hurts my brain :P
For the past couple days, I've had a whole bunch of bugs in my apartment..I couldn't figure out WHY, which was annoying me. It was annoying moving a chair around trying to "dispatch" them (sorry!). I saw there were some in the kitchen light fixture, and was wondering why they were living in there. I was going to call maintenance to get them out of there and to see if there was a nest or something, but today I noticed my balcony door was slightly open (I had an inspection on Monday). I opened the door all the way and saw a lot of those same bugs flying around on the screen door. PHEW!! I'm glad that was an easy fix. :P But while I was looking up at the bugs, I saw there was applesauce on the CEILING from when I dropped a container on the floor..it had gotten on my arm and the floor, but I didn't realize it had gone all the way to the ceiling!! That's impressive :P
September 11 - Do pineapples go on pizzas? No, that's always been gross to me lol
September 12 - Recommend a book? The Worst Journey in the World :P
September 13 - How old were you when you learned to read? Mom said before I could talk, so maybe before 1 year old?
