They're all Mass Effect. I still haven't beaten 3. I'm taking it slow and savoring everything. Plus I'm getting used to the Online MP.
Adrianna Fennel
Race: Human
Age: 27
Appearance: Nothing special, long brown hair tied in a ponytail, brown eyes, fair skin, about 5'5, wears typical Citadel casual wear.
Occupation: Served with the military for a few years so she could get school funding. She earned a degree that helped her work with AI, especially with how they could be integrated into different technology and cultures. She was planning on going for her graduate, but a job opportunity she couldn't pass up opened on the Citadel and she longed to travel after working with ships for four years. She works with ships and technology on the Citadel. Some of the work she does can be questionable, but nothing illegal and it's always different, which suits her.
Living: She lives on the Citadel in an apartment that comfortably houses two.
Past Life:
Not long after working on the Citadel, just short of her 25th birthday, she met an Asari, Shaira, and the two became fast friends. Shaira came in looking for someone to repair a small drone, a pet of sorts. Everyone there scoffed at such a small task as they worked on more high end missions. Adrianna felt bad, seeing how distressed she was, and told Shaira to meet her after closing. Adrianna told everyone she'd close up. After hours, she let Shaira in and fixed her drone. Shaira told her that it was like a pet. Her mother made it for her and it was all she had left to remind her of her mother. It could create a small barrier to protect her if she was ever in trouble, but mostly it followed her around like a faithful companion.
Adrianna began muttering about how she could incorporate AI into it to make the drone like a true pet, which amused Shaira. She admitted that she didn't know much about technology, being more into art. She then offered to buy Adrianna a drink as her thanks. One thing led to another and before too long, the two were inseparable. They'd meet after Adrianna got off work. Shaira liked to sing at bars and in small performances here and there, making the odd dollar. Her coworkers, mostly male, teased her about her girlfriend, which got her to thinking. That night, as the two sat under the false night sky of a Presidium restaurant, Adrianna brought it up. Shaira smiled, saying she'd been feeling something.
They talked that night for a long time, about the life span and everything. Adrianna shared her life and race as did Shaira. Shaira was still relatively young, not sure what she wanted to do, being only 140. After they talked themselves out, there was nothing left to say, so they kissed, hugged, enjoyed each other's company.
They were officially dating now. A few of Adrianna's coworkers were jealous, which made her laugh. After almost two years, marriage talks were starting to come up as it was clear the two were very much in love. Adrianna finally decided to tell her family and they were not thrilled about her being with an alien. They told her they wanted no part in this and ceased communications on the issue. Things went better with Shaira's family. They were extremely welcoming and thrilled to meet her. After they left, Shaira officially asked Adrianna to become her wife. The two were overjoyed.
They wed on Thessia in a beautiful location. It was an amazing ceremony. The two honeymooned on the planet in a nice, quiet location away from the city life they were so used to. Shaira had already moved in with Adrianna and so newly wed life wasn't much different, but each time Adrianna looked down at the ring on her finger, a silver band with a beautiful green stone, she felt overjoyed.
The next three months were the happiest of her life. Then Cerberus came. They attacked the Citadel. Adrianna raced to where Shaira was working, not even caring to clock out, but it was too late. She got there as a Cerberus agent left from shooting the building. She held Shaira as she spoke her last words, ones of love and devotion, before dying.
The attack ended, Citadel order was slowly restored, or as much as it could be. Adrianna was left feeling empty. Shaira's drone floated around the apartment. Everything reminded her of her wife. She was angry, hurt, she'd been told how Shaira would outlive her and now here she was, without her. She only had three months of marraige, two years before that, it wasn't fair.
Life now:
She drowned herself in her work, ignoring everything around her. She worked day and night. She slept at work. Anything so she wouldn't think. Her boss was worried and gave her vacation time. This was even worse. With nothing to do, she just laid in bed and stared at the wall. The drone began beeping alarmingly one day and spread a shield over her. She recalled what Shaira said about being in danger. As the shield held up, she saw a hologram of Shaira's mom. It said "I love you. Please don't ever give up." Just as suddenly, it stopped.
Adrianna imagined the same thing said in Shaira's words and how Shaira was with her mom now. Adrianna stood, gathered some of her things together in a bag and left. She used a good portion of her savings to buy a space capable ship, one that she'd been eying. She used the rest of her vacation time to work on it and improve it. She took a leave of absence from work, which everyone there understood. She then took her well manned ship and set out to space. It was something she'd been wanting to do for ages, but had forgotten with marriage and the war. There were so many destinations and she had time now. Maybe not much, but time none-the-less.
