This wasn't a family meeting. It was a war council. Karla had never seen Saetan look quite so grave and even Lucivar had left behind a lot of his customary bluster. They were ensconced in the study, waiting for Morton to arrive. He was past due, though no one was mentioning that.

In an effort to keep his temper leashed, he caught the eye of the young male that had accompanied Karla to Dhemlan. If he was supposed to trust this male with her, he'd better get to know him, right? He cocked his head towards the door and raised an eyebrow.
It was like a request, really!
