Momoko had of COURSE taken Karla up on the offer!

She was totally not at all staring sparkly-eyed and wondering how she managed to be so lucky as to go from one palace to another.

Obviously she had good taste in friends!

Speaking of, she looked around for one of them... any of them? Hello?

"Momoko!" Raven said when she saw her friend arrive. "It is good to see you. How are you?"

And why did you shrink Karla went unspoken. For now.

"Raven! Happy Christmas! I'm fine! All healed and everything!" She flexed an arm, then reached to offer a hug. "You?"

"Merry Christmas," Raven said, accepting the hug and giving one in return. But she frowned at Momoko's words. "You were injured? What happened?"

"Leda was attacked and lots of her people were killed. I got the message only a few days after we rescued Jaime! I went to help her and it ended up a battle with Lord Corwyn, the enemy leader. We had to fight our way to him and then fight him and his henchmen..."

Her face darkened for a moment. "I totally hate fighting in worlds with magic. I always feel like I am not prepared enough or something."

This wasn't helping Raven's frowning. She hated to think of her friends in danger.

"I have heard a little of this from Karla," she said. "You...shrank her?"

"I bet she said I did it to be mean, didn't she?" Momoko rolled her eyes, still grinning. "Before I went to Leda's, since I don't have any magic of my own and her world sometimes messes with my powers, I stopped by Reno's place and picked up some magic items that I could use? Like potions and ethers and stuff? I didn't know Karla was going to be there or I'd totally have gotten more, since ethers totally work for restoring her energy and stuff."

Momoko made a face. "Between setting up traps for the main army and then fighting our way into Corwyn's headquarters, Karla used most of the potions and ethers up. And lots of the food I'd made her carry, too. Then when she wa... well, she got really badly injured at one point and I had to use the last of what I had to heal her."

Yeah. Karla the healer had been too far gone to heal herself.

"Then it was over and she wasn't even able to stand properly!" Momoko shrugged. "I even tried to convince her she was being a liability, she was so totally weak. In the end, I used one of Reno's items to

Yes, still frowning, and telling herself not to fret because Karla was fine now and so was Momoko.

"I cannot begrudge you forcing her to rest," Raven said. "I would do much the same." Possibly by stuffing her in the netherverse. "Could you not have restored her before returning her to Fandom, however?"

"Sure. Although it wears off after a little while, too." Momoko blinked. "But I didn't return her to Fandom; I took her to Warren!"

"There was still work to be done in Leda's. Still some skirmishes and maybe more. I wasn't sure if I would be able to keep an eye on her and make sure that she didn't do anything crazy and get hurt before she was fully healed. I figured she would be okay with Warren."

Which was what Raven had meant; she just had Fandom on her mind apparently.

"Well, she is fine now," Raven said slowly, not wishing to cause Momoko any distress by mentioning the difficulties that had cause Karla. "And I thank you for protecting her."

[heromaniac]

"I didn't know that Warren's world would be attacked! Promise! I totally would have kept her in my pocket or sent her to Jaime or Dinah or you or something." Momoko nodded. Raven was one of Karla's protectors, so Momoko wanted to make sure Raven understood. "Seeing her like that, though... She totally burned herself out and potions aren't as good as real rest! I guess I could have tied her up or something, but we were in the middle of the two armies and it wouldn't have helped Leda if we started fighting ourselves. It totally just looked like she teleported away."

And Momoko may have helped spread that rumour, that the powerful foreign Queen who had come to help their Queen Leda had returned to her own world now that the war had concluded.

"Do not fret," Raven said soothingly. "Karla was her normal size when our voices were stolen, so she was in no additional danger because she was small." That probably would have been very bad if she had.

She gave Momoko a small smile. "And I know well how stubborn she can be when she is tired and needs to rest before she burns herself out."

Momoko smiled back, relieved. "I've never seen her that bad. Usually when we work together, we get done long before she needs anything other than a few band aids and some food."

All right, now Raven was getting more concerned. She really had to talk to Karla about just what exactly had happened, and while she wouldn't yell at her, some gentle scolding seemed to be in order.

"I did not realize things were so bad there," she said. "But I am pleased you are all safe now. Are things settled in Leda's world now, so that she isn't in danger there?"

There was a squishy hug and then Dinah saying, "So, New Year's in New Gotham? Or Tokyo City?"

"HAPPY CHRISTMAS!" Momoko hugged back just as tightly. "If we go back to Tokyo City, we have to spend all New Year's Eve cleaning my parents' house, and then go visiting temples and family and friends all the next day!"
