After a brief pit stop at the other island off the coast of San Francisco (look, Alcatraz loomed large in Karla's recollections; there was a lot of
trauma associated there), Karla and the others made their way to Utopia--which, truth be told, probably should have been their first stop, consider how utterly ridiculous it
looked. Was there some kind

He was waiting for a lift out of here. He wasn't talking to anyone until he had that much. And in the meantime, his eyes were going to be on his knees, staring through his flames.

"I don't care that he's still undergoing whatever bullshit testing you're putting him through in an effort to feel useful," she said, completely reasonably. "I'm going in there to fetch him, and, if I have to, I will go through you to fetch him."

She didn't know if anyone here was going to try to prevent them from getting Jono out of there. Try. She was picking up on confusion and some anger from those around them, but nothing that indicated a wish to stop them, not yet at least. She hung back a little, tense as she waited for a reaction, ready to teleport them out of there instantly if needed.

Thanks for the help, Logan.
"It's for his own good," he said, attempting to sound something approaching calm. He was too damn tired for this. "We'll be happy to let him wander around as soon as we know there won't be any adverse effects from his ordeal."
You know. The one nobody was really talking about at length.

We will not abandon him as the X-Men once did was unspoken.

Scott, meanwhile, lifted his arm to knock Karla's away before it could get anywhere near his face. It wasn't as though he knew she was going for his cheek, as opposed to his glasses.
"You do not touch me," he informed her, stiffly, before turning his attention to Raven. She seemed to strike him as the saner person in the room at the moment. "And maybe you can comprehend how marching in here and informing me of anything might be counter-productive."
Where Logan got the beer he was opening while he enjoyed the show, Scott didn't want to know.
"If Jonothon wants to leave, I can't keep him. But Dr. Rao would rather be positive he's in good hands, first."

"If I remember rightly, the last time we faced one another in an infirmary, I had to inform you of things then, too," she said, arching an eyebrow just so. "And I'm fairly certain you can inform Kavita of our healing abilities, considering you've seen them for yourself in the past."

"We helped heal many of your people after the attack by the Church of Humanity, Mr. Summers," she said. "Surely you know of our skills. And it seems to me that what Jono is in the most need of right now is his friends. Please."
She fixed Scott with a sterner gaze. "The last time Jono was affected by a transformation, he was left alone. He is family to us, and we cannot let that happen again. Surely you can understand that."

Logan took a deep swig.
"Believe it or not, we X-Men do have some idea of the concept of 'family," Scott noted, his tone dry. "Especially after what we've just been through."
He gestured toward the infirmary, on the other side of the pane of glass that divided them from where Jonothon was sitting.
"I know you're both adept healers. But Jonothon also needs to be around someone with a calm head, and one of you doesn't seem to be capable of demonstrating that she knows the meaning of the word."
He'd actually look into the other room eventually and realize that Jono wasn't alone in there. In the meantime, Logan was going to keep drinking his beer, enjoying the show. Karla was much more amusing when it wasn't him who had to deal with her.

"I'm being remarkably calm," she said, chiding him the way she would a very small child who was also very stupid. "You'll notice, I haven't attempted to go through you yet, or used any of our myriad powers that would enable us to just go get him and be gone. But, yes, I'm going to continue to be snide while you're take your turns in this pissing contest."

Scott would have to talk to him about that later.

She gave Scott her very bestest cheerful smile.
"I think what you actually mean to say is, 'Karla, be nice.' And, you see, niceness isn't actually required here. It might be polite, but I don't really feel like being polite right now. If Scott wants to continue to stonewall us and keep Jono from getting the best care possible because he doesn't like my tone, well then I have a few choice, not-very-nice-or-calm comments for him. But we're not here as supplicants or to boost his leadership feelings, so he'll do what's right, his personal feelings aside, isn't that right, Scott?"

"Mr. Summers, please just let us go to Jono, and we will leave this place quickly. I think we will all be much happier then."

"The more she opens her mouth, the less I believe she's good for anybody," Scott noted, eyebrow raised. "And I don't take well to people forcing their way into my home and throwing their weight around to get what they want. I've fought too damn hard to--"
Logan's laughter was actually distracting enough, now, to have Scott taper off and throw a dirty look in the Canuck's direction.
