Rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

I know I haven't posted in a million years - life kinda sorta got in the way. So, to sum up:

- Phranque got hurt;

- Workman's Comp rejected his claim before he even saw the doctor. This resulted in us losing our apartment. We moved to Southern NJ for a time with some friends who were kind enough to take us in;

- Phranque swore up, down and sideways that he was not going for another back surgery, thankyouverymuch;

- I got some temp work while in NJ, which was very helpful;

- We hired an attorney on the recommendation of our doctor, who said we didn't have a hope in hell of winning the comp case without one;

- The attorney told us we should move back to CT as soon as we possibly could, because the CT Workman's Comp Commission doesn't like to give money to someone who has moved out of state;

- Upon hearing this, my sister invited us to come live with them in CT;

- The attorney told Phranque that if he decided not to get the surgery, we might as well give up the lawsuit right now;

- A month or so later, our attorney called to ask if I would like to come temp for him.

So, as of this moment:

- We're living in Monroe, CT;

- I'm temping part-time, with the possibility of the job going perm;

- Phranque has decided that he's going to go for the back surgery after all. This was after much deliberation and discussion with others who have had the same operation.

Now that I'm working, I will probably be on LJ more often - I just can't seem to get into it when I'm typing from home, probably because I don't have anything to talk about.

Pain level is normal - not too bad, not 100% fabulous. It's mostly livable, which is really all I can ask for, right?

OH - went to see Avatar 3D the other night - LOVED IT! Yeah, it was a reheat of Dances with Wolves and Ferngully, but I loved those stories too, and the effects were so absolutely stunning that even I was amazed, even though I'm really not an effects junkie. I would totally go see it again - in fact, I'd *really* like to see it at the IMAX.

Anyway, next time, I will update on my most recent knitting projects. I joined Ravelry (as GKingsley, of course), which is made of awesome. I haven't posted any pics yet, but I will. Eventually.

And that's all the news that's fit to print. Hopefully I'll have more to share soon!

frank, update
