Update on the Frank Flu
Well, we're FINALLY back from the hospital after spending the entire day stuck in a hallway because they were so swamped.
M'kay - they gave him IV fluids and anti-nausea meds. The doc palped his belly and it was very tender, so they decided to do a CT scan. The scan revealed inflammation in his digestive tract - not the end of the world, but definitely something he will need to follow up with the PCP (primary care physician, for those of you playing the home game). They gave him a script for anti-nausea meds and instructions to ingest only clear fluids and to return immediately if it continues for another 48 hours or gets worse at all.
He's not "better" - he's still having a difficult time keeping anything down, and is still experiencing all the other miserable symptoms. But he doesn't have swine flu, appendicitis or diverticulitis - those are good things *not* to have. It's just a virus - a really hardcore virus.
If he doesn't get better, or has to go back to the hospital, I'll post immediately. But I'm planning for - intending for - him to recover from this thing in a timely manner.
