The Holy Days of G’Quan had passed quietly. For years, G'Kar had followed the rituals necessary to mark the Holy Days, but there was something lacking by performing the rituals in space. Sunlight.
It was still there, of course. Scientifically speaking. Traveling through space as light does. But it was far different when one was standing on solid ground. Feeling it warm one’s skin, watching it brighten a horizon; those were the aspects of the rituals he’d been missing for so long. Too long.
When G’Kar had handwavily tallied up the calculations (not an easy feat when taking into account travel through time and different dimensions) he’d been alarmed to realize that the Holy Days were near upon him.
Without haste, and without a word to anyone, he’d taken off. Spent several days to himself, camped out in the deep recesses of the Preserve. Taking his time; reconciling all the previous Holy Day rituals that had been devoid of precious sunlight.
He was vaguely surprised upon his return to discover he’d been gone for an entire week. But it had been worth it. Even if he hadn’t the
